So my last rental before the big burst of GS in March is on its way, shipped from GameFly on the 4th. Having NEVER played any Amped games before, nor any other snowboarding games, and having only BEEN snowboarding twice in my whole life... what are the generic suggestions to get me in out and through this game in as little time as possible?
Trick is I can't see myself devoting too much time to this one past Thursday...

To get big points in the air you have to do that style trick where you only push the analog stick halfway to one side, it gets you bigger points that way..
On the rails, button mash all the buttons except jump (unless you want to jump and rotate, which builds multiplier)
If u dont plan on keeping the game long, dont go for the all medals achievement, just do all the stages and impress the bystanders, and pick up the sledding, snowmobile, and park builder badges (all of which are very easy to get, and self explanatory)..

Just remember that Amped is not Tony Hawk. I know that's obvious, but it does take some getting used to when you switch from one to the other.
And go for golds the FIRST time you complete a challenge. Lord knows you don't wanna spend 3 hours looking for that last silver that you need to get a gold on. And yes, it does take that long to pan and scan ALL the mountains.
Also, have fun! This game is very enjoyable and the cutscenes are all worth at least 2 views. If you don't absolutely love it, you'll absolutely hate it. There is no in-between. Just be open-minded for a crazy and funny adventure you're about to partake in!

Actually, I find myself in the middle towards liking it. Here's my review I put up on another site this morning:
First off, I'm happy with GameFly. I've been a subscriber since late December and I'm loving it.
Ever since the 360 came out, I'm making it my goal on this console to play as many different games as I can, maximizing the usage of my GameFly subscription. Broke out and through five games so far with it in the span of a couple months, and just yesterday, the sixth one arrived.
Amped 3.
Of all the "original 18" launch titles, I'd have to say this is the biggest sleeper hit and the most raw fun per minute of any of the launch games I've played so far.
Which is not to say that it's perfect. No, you'll to get around the acid trip stoner cutscenes and the occasional graphics flaws. My 360 even locked up, consistently, about 6 or 7 times (which may or may not be this game, but it never happened before).
But the game itself? Worth a rental, bare minimum, and that's coming from a person who DOESN'T snowboard. It's easy to learn and has multiple game modes in it. The challenges are varied enough to keep it interesting. Just last night I went through about 10% of the story and did a lot of miscelaneous other things outside the story for a good evening's worth of time.
One of the game modes in Amped 3 is to "Sled" (/Toboggan/HangGlide) down a hill, steer with your left thumbstick, maintain balance with your triggers, wipe out on a hard obstacle, and try your best to incur the largest hospital bill on your broken body. Really, how cool is that?
Bottom Line:
http://www.thefallensoldiers.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_arrow.gif Not perfect, but well worth a rental
http://www.thefallensoldiers.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_arrow.gif Loads of sleeper fun and plenty of challenges to do
7.5 / 10

No -- Leave one event as a silver until you have all the medals, i heard if you have ALL gold medals and your last event you get a gold, you'll only get the higher of the two achievements..
