Is it just me or did the billboards in crackdown change last night to advertise the Royal Navy?
I'm sure they where not there before..... (it was late thought  )

Never seen THAT... creepy! Mine are usually Dodge advertisements. I'm in the US though, and they make more sense than Royal Navy advertisements, don't they?
The game must have dynamic advertisements. Amazing. What will technology sell us next?
I do like how they display leaderboard stats on them here and there though. It's nice to at least have a CHANCE at glory, if on a microcosmic scale.
rainbow six had dynamic advertising as well, i thought it was pretty cool.
Wait until we get PS3 adverts in 360 games.
I thought the Americanstani adverts were annoying, almost teasing. But the Royal Navy is a strange step.

I usually get just Dodge ads, but last night I restarted my solo game and now I have ads for Intel that I never seen before..

Well the Navy ones have gone now and I'm left with a mix of pc and dodge ad's.
lol
Funny things was that EVERY billboard had Royal Navy on it which was the spooky thing.
Anywho back to finding orbs :-)

In one of the R6 levels where you cross a street there are nothing but dodge vehicles strewn about all over the road... blatant advertising. Its kinda funny to me how in crackdown there are all these futuristic looking cars and then they advertise dodge nitros(?) that wouldn't belong in the actual game

I know some people woud be upset about real ads in their game. Not me. The way I look at it is think about the money they get from those ads. That money would go to making new and better games. It is no different then seeing an ad in a movie. The ad just helps the overall production cost of the movie/game. In the end it works out great for everyone.

Also I wanted to point out, that in one of the underground shopping areas, I could have sworn I saw a neon sign with a rapper's name on it.

Even though I see your point of having these as revenue for the companies. I still enjoy seeing the developers come up with funny companies etc. aka GTA. Some of the stuff you see in that is so funny!

Ok I have seen dodge adverts and I have seen an advert for the Royal Navy. It was by the river between the first two islands. I live in Nottingham England, so it definatly seems like they are regionalising the adverts.
Pretty cool in my opinion.

I wonder if it is done by the disk. Like if I had a Xbox from England and played crackdown would it still be Dodge ads or Royal Navy??

I would guess it is done as a regional thing. I cant see the british royal navy paying to advertise on a game outside the UK. I dont know if there are generic adverts on the game to start with and then when you go on x box live it can tell where you are and then it bases the adverts on this.

This is sad....I didn't even realize there was real advertising in the game. Since I hardly look at billboards when I'm driving I guess I ignore them as well in games. I'm sure I'll notice them this weekend now.
