Defective Facehugger

Just wondering if any one else received a messed up Hunters Ed. I waited an extra day to play it, spent an extra 40$ to buy it, and the facehugger's broken in 4 spots (mainly the tail). I know it's my decision to purchase it , but I'm told they're really limited and probably can't be replaced (by Gamestop).I'm not planning on playing with it like a toy, but I'm sure most can agree they want what they pay for, and the ad didn't say "BROKEN FACEHUGGER". Just wondering if it's common like the Bioshock Big Daddy statue defect.Thanx.

Yes sir. Only mine was snapped at the tail since it was wrapped around the whole thing.

Honestly tho, it's easily fixable with the right tools. Use a double sided nail to pin whatever parts are broken, then crazy glue.

As a collector of certain things, I'm disappointed but I wasn't planning on "playing" with it. All in all, at least this LE came with a bunch of things somewhat close to worth $30 extra. Just my opinion tho rather than JUST some concept art booklet.

However, always take in mind that a Limited or Special edition product is almost never given 100% care in manufacturing. I'm surprised they got this as close to replica as possible aside from scale.

I will be getting mine Friday since I am from the UK. Since it seems to be the US ones being broken I shall edit my message when I recieve my copy. This will help us see if the facehuggers are globally defective.

My friends at Gamestop tell me, after trying to find me a replacement, 8 out of 10 are coming in broken. He opened a PS3 one to swap out the Hugger, and it is broke as well. Gamestop is contacting SEGA for info...so keep everything in good shape.With any luck, it could get replaced.

The facehugger really tempted me aswell. I was going to get the survival edition from Game but it was a MAJOR ripoff. £20.00 more expensive than the Play.com normal edition. For an extra £20.00 pound you recieve steelbook casing and 4 multiplayer maps... With the Hunter Edition you get the facehugger. That right there bought me. Whoever purchases the survival edition is being ripped off. But like I said I really hope my facehugger is not damaged.

When they designed these things, they probably didn't consider the hostile environment that is packaging and transporting.

Just another lesson in marketing alongside demo releases (that one is "sheep won't heed basic this-doesnt-reflect-final-content lines").

Mine was broken once at the tail. Also, I recommend superglue. I doubt crazy glue will hold, due to its composition I'm sceptical about anything holding. Mine is glued & proped up. I'll know the results in 24hrs. In my makeshift alien infirmary.

And I wanted to play with mine too. My wife wasn't amused when I ran around the house holding it to my face yelling "It got me". I thought I was being quite clever...oh well.

But it isn't all bad news if you can get easily get a replacement :)
(North America at least for now, hopefully they won't try to screw over EU buyers if it's the same).

I know I'm really, really looking forward to getting mine.
Just hope it isn't messed up. I picked special delivery just for the only reason that I've never had anything damaged with special as opposed to Royal Mail.

Its very small and rubbery. It would barely fit the head of a Baby, and its legs are movable. The entire package is small, the box a little bit bigger than the Resistance 2 Collector's Edition. The Steel Case has a picture of a Alien on the front and a predator on the back. It is about the same size as all other steel book cases and comes in a protective sleeve. The Graphic Novel is about the same size of an Art Book you'd get in a CE. The Sleeve Badge is roughly the same size as the Halo Wars LE Patch. And of course, it comes with 4 multiplayer maps.

Update: Yes, mine is also broken. In only one spot however. And it seems that ONLY North America is affected by this, so those in Europe and elsewhere are/should be safe.

Sega has issued a Facehugger replacement program, and has said NOT to go back to the store. Besides, they already released news that about 80% of the stock were shipped defective by mistake, so asking for a new, un-broken Facehugger is like trying to find a needle in a haystack right now.

If you're from Australia, then it shouldn't affect you. Only North American copies of Aliens vs. Predator: Hunter Edition were shipped with defective facehuggers.

But yes, they are really cool, and feel kinda weird to touch.

Haha, I was liking the video until he was saying about "noobs playing on normal", then you just know he's one of these douches that has a tag of something like 5n1p3rH34dsh0tz.

Looks good imo, I'm not dissappointed by the size of it tbh, I knew it wouldn't be like a full size replica.
Quite want to pick up the TPB on eBay.com though even though I have some of them in actual comic book form. (We never got the TPB with ours over here).
