I love Visceral Games mostly due to Dead Space and Dead Space Extraction. I like action games but not enough to go out and buy all of them. How easy are the achievements? Are they Easy enough that Ill be able to get all of them but still hard enough that getting all will be a challenge?

I thought it was a great game, but there isn't much replay value. Also, you can beat it in 7-8 hours. You can probably even 1k it without much difficulty in double that time.

42/42 achievements in 7.5 hrs here. 6 hours story first time, 30min arena, and bout 50% thru 2nd playthrough in an hour. You can totally run through this game in under 3 hours once you know what to do.
is the game great? YES
is the game short? YES
is it worth full retail price... I think full price is a little much, it's just too short with no replay factor

No, too many things are wrong with this game imo to buy it, in fact most of the deaths that happened to me was from bad camera angles during platforming events. The best thing I liked about it is the creature/landscape design, also the voice acting is good. Other than that, everything else is not that good. Your better off playing darksiders, or maybe renting this if you must try it.

Why even wait until it's cheaper? You can rent it and get 1000/1000 in a single day.

I've recently completed a similar game - Jericho.
In terms of ease of getting 1k and 'scariness / disgusting-ness' - Which game has the upper hand?

Sweet, I wanna 1K this and have yet to buy it so I'm hoping it'll be of medium difficulty. The 666 combo achievo seems kinda easy after playing the demo, I got about a 100 combo on about 4-5 enemies!

I've only played the demo but loved that.
I also own the book:
A Modern Reader's Guide To Dante's: The Divine Comedy
But I'm still just going to rent the game maybe twice in a row who knows, but this does not seem like the type of game to have much re-play value(un-like the book).

I've only played the Demo for Dante's Inferno, but I would think Jericho would be a more scary/disgusting because of it being a FPS so monsters are all up close. Were as Dante's Inferno has more of a blimp over view so your really not seeing the detail of monsters as good.
But Story line, I'd say Dante's Inferno would win considering it's origins.

They're adding a big DLC in April with full two player coop support (or at least they claim).

This game was way too easy, it reminded me of Avatar: TBE where I finished Avatar in one day and got 1000/1000 in just 10 minutes of playing. I beat this game in about 6.5 hours in my first run through, but didn't get 1000/1000 until midway through on my 2nd run through.

I would rent it the game is definately worth playing, but Dead Space I thought was a better game by the same company. Beatable in under 10 hours and I mean for the full 1000 not worth 60 bucks imo, but I may end up buying it used just to have in my collection.

If you like Visceral Games why not support the studio and buy it anyway?
It's a great game, a lot of thought, effort, imagination and quality has been put into this game. It doesn't have as much replay value, but its a realy experience, and deserves to at least be played somehow.
I got a really nice special edition version, so I won't be trading my copy in.

Absolutely. It's pretty forgettable once you've finished it. It's already selling for $40 in certain places. Should be in the $20-$30 range in the next few months.

Rental. DLC is 5 dollars for 15 mins of gameplay with 40 achievement points spanning...two achievements. DLC as of late has been extremely poor for all games, except masseffect2

definite rental. game is short, infuriating, and has little replay value. i sure as hell am not looking forward to replaying it again for maxing out my holy tree. at this point, i'm basically just playing for the achievements.

I bought this game and do not regreat doing it.
It took me 9 hours to finish it and by that time I´ve already got 75% of the achievements... The rest is coming up on the second playtrough. It is not that hard to get the 1000 :gsicon:, the only "hard" one is Poetry in Motion. The lack of difficult achievements does help (as you can turn down to classic without worring about missing achievements).
As for palying the game again, after the second playtrough there is not much point, as you know all the puzzles and have everything -just follow the collectible guide. But then again that does happen with all storylines.. it is very hard to find a game and play it again and again the same story.
In Dante´s this happens to, however there will be a multiplayer soon wich will help playing it again.
Cheers
