How Do I get past the malebalge?

I have been stuck on the malebalge for over an hour please help! I am on the part where you have to stay in the air for 8 seconds.

Double jump and then just mash Y over and over. It's all I did. If your still having troubles, Mash Y until your almost back on the ground and then try to do a grab move while mid-air to give you that extra second or two that you might need.

Beat up one of the demons and when you grab it with RTdo a punish, if its the move where you jump on his back, you can time the B button presses so you'll get the 8 seconds.

This is really the easiest way. I did this and was able to stay in the air for well over 8 seconds, along with getting a batch of Unholy exp.

Just in the air and start mashing on Y, but make sure you are near the enemies and hit them, it will keep you in the air longer.

Don't you need to kill two enemies while you in the air though? or is it just stay in the air for 8 seconds? I'm not stuck on that part, but that is where i stopped the other night, and can see it being difficult :|

There's a bonus for killing 2 enemies, but it's not necessary to proceed. Anyways, just double jump and spam the y button. If you happen to hit one of the enemies, you'll stay in the air longer, so it's best to aim for one of the demons.

I just beat up a demon til you can punish then wait for the move where you decapitate him. Tap B and gauge the demon's redness so you don't behead him too late and boom 8 seconds

Also if you hold "Y" the move shoots you high into the air (higher than a double jump) then like everyone has said mash "Y"

Takes a few tries to get the timing right, but this works. Nine seconds for me. Good tip.

Right now I'm actually stuck on #9 where you have to kill all enemies without resetting the hit counter. I keep killing 4 random wimps and 1 purple guy, then 4 babies and 1 armored purple guy and then my hit counter expires without any more enemies respawning >_<

I am just trying to get enough souls to finish my last achievement, I think I might try to start a new game again and see if I only need that last 30-50k still.

edit: That won't work I need to figure out a way to continue. I guess I could try not using the relic that increases the length of the hit counter as there is a small chance that disables completing the challenge. Otherwise it has to be a bug or something.

edit 2: I watched a video on YouTube of somebody spamming cross attacks the whole time and didn't notice much difference, then I went ahead and fired the game up and mixed some cross attacks in and sure enough another enemy type appeared this time. No idea why they weren't showing up before although I wasn't using any cross attacks on the first attempts which were getting me stuck.

As far as the 8 seconds in the air, you literally just need to jump with A then spam the Y button which will keep you in the air for a very long time.
