I simply can't believe what a piece of shit this game is. You'd think with over 15 years of 3-D games, developer's would have learned how to stop fucking up camera controls. I've got 9 of my 12 rooftop races done and I'm just astonished at how the last three are turning into such an abortion. The camera zooms in and out at random, my character disappears, he won't grab onto ledges because he's turned sideways and it seems random as to whether or not they'll let you turn in midair. It's just a really poorly made game.

I mean, I could almost understand the fact that the game was as mundane an experience as doing my taxes, or that the only way to distinguish bosses from their underlings was that they had an Avatar with a drawing of their face next to their health bar that completely robbed the experience of any sense of drama, urgency or accomplishment. OR that cars periodically disappeared which resulted in seated drivers floating down the road like a fucking Gary Numan video, and hitting one of these invisible objects sicced the cops all over your ass. Or the fact that what little story there is stinks worse than a fire at a barber shop. Maybe even the fact that the soundtrack is what likely plays on car radios in hell. But when you base a game around a concept, at least get the fucking concept right. I mean, seriously... I feel like I've had $60 stolen from me here. The game is so outrageously mediocre I can't understand why anyone would rate this higher than a generous 5/10, let alone the 7s and 8s it got on most of these bullshit gaming websites.

I was going to wait until I got my 900 points before I traded this in, but frankly I had more fun getting the 200 out of Pocketbike Racer. I'd just as soon sell it now before the Halo 3 beta comes out. I'd rather be surprised by that game anyhow... after this screwjob, I could use a nice surprise.

Anyone agreeing with me here? Or has everyone gone nuts?

Very few people agree with you, and they think you and the others who bash it have gone nuts (hence the good reviews on all those "bullshit gaming websites").

I love it, personally. Sure, there's not really any story and it's somewhat short, but it's insanely fun just jumping across the city in search of the orbs or jumping from a ridiculous height to blow up a hit squad with your Firefly. Get together with a friend and do some car-surfing or a friendly game of "Rocket Tag." - There's more to the game than you're seeing.

As to your complaints: What's the last game you played that didn't have shoddy camera angles? And I've never seen a disappearing car, so I can't help you there. Don't be so critical or you won't ever enjoy anything, just have fun with what they offer instead of complaining about what they didn't offer.

I would have to agree with bobthegopher because the game is fun.. ok yes the camera angles can be annoying, but every game has its pro's and con's you just have to see the game for its con's... Have you ever played a perfect game?

Fair enough... I suppose this is just one of those phenomena I'll never truly understand... like Pokemon or reggaeton or peanut butter and jelly in the same jar.

Though I have played a great many games that don't have shoddy camera controls. That is a big no-no for me with any game, and I have returned a great many games -- Super Mario Sunshine comes to mind -- as a result of it. I've been playing games since Intellivision so I know once in a while a fuck-up happens and you get gipped out of whatever you're trying to accomplish. But when it becomes the norm, I get very aggravated... particularly with games costing $10 more than they have recently. For $60, I should have a game in my hand that is finished (and this one isn't) and not riddled with bugs. But I'm just gauging opinions here... sorry if the tone of my message drifted into the "batshit" field. I'm most certainly nuts... regardless of whether or not I like the game. :p

I think it has some replay value. You could get on there with a friend and play rocket tag, turn crimes on and blow up civilians until everyone is after you, etc.

LOL, "kicks the pope in the balls". I'm gonna have to use that one.

That's my main beef I guess... that I paid $60 for something that was so short-lived. I mean the main reason I'm still playing it is to finish off the achievements... they're all doable and I might as well... and then I'm probably just going to see what I can get for it in the way of money. I'm trying to haul-ass through these achievements before the Halo 3 beta starts, though.

River City Ransom DEFINITELY kicks the pope in the balls.

Well I finished the game yesterday and must admit to being slightly underwhelmed. Yes, its damned addictive while you've got things to do, but I found the solution to getting the bosses was to spam them with Firefly rockets. I did the very last Shai-Gen boss, Wang on my first attempt which I was surprised at.

I don't know man...people have been saying there are tons of glitches, which I somehow don't experience. The only bug I've seen is loading bosses during co-op. Other than that, I don't think I've experienced any glitches, especially disappearing cars.

I really had no problem with the camera angles, because I adjust easy to them for every game. Someone said that the downloadable content would enhance the experience, and I'd have to agree. With promises of new island(s) and bosses, I have to agree. *not to mention the Halo 3 Beta

Apart from awkward camera angles sometimes, I've had one glitch. It was in the Shai-Gen tower and a grenade blast threw me. I got 'stuck' in the floors but could move a little bit. I freed myself by using the blast of one of my own grenades though so no harm done.

I found that although the storyline involved incredibly repetative missions, it was still a fun game to play, bouncing around like the hulk :)

I don't like bad camera angles in games, either. I didn't have any problems with the ones in Crackdown, though. I don't have any cons about Crackdown besides it being short, but even then there's gonna be additional content coming out. As for hating bad camera angles, never play Superstar Mode in Madden NFL 07. It is a pain in the ass!!!

It glitches like a motherfucker for me... the disappearing cars that I mentioned earlier... I'm constantly getting stuck in scenery. The disappearing stunt rings.

The downloadable content probably won't stop the combat from being shallow. It'll just provide more to drudge through. I mean, I kinda went off on the game in my previous post... I don't really hate it or anything. It's not a painful experience, but I maintain that the game is STILL a piece of shit (due to it's being a glitchy mess and more than a little bland) if a moderately tolerable one. But the way people were talking about this game just didn't pan out for me... it's like I was going to meet Joe Walsh and Don Henley showed up.

I've had the disaapearing car happen a few times...mainly in Shai Gen...I was driving a cop car and turned down a street and low and behold here's some guy just floating along...so i got out and tried to shoot him, and the car reappears...just a funny lil glitch...but I have to agree somewhat with the post starter...this game was all hyped up, but had very little too offer...yeah you can bounce around searching for meaningless orbs ( I say this because I am almost maxed out on all 5 things )...if the orbs had an actual purpose, those would be the onlly way to max yourself out...otherwise all they are is something to keep you busy once you beat the game, that if you actually played thru without searching or doing races, would only take about an hour or so as they are actually easy...i like the game, its fun, just that there are shortcomings that no one on this forum can deny, and if you do, then you really should be on crazy pills

I thought the game was an amazing side-track from my normal fps genre. I love the GTA style game play and the leveling up is exactly what my MMORPG addiction (since I quit WoW for a 360) needed. On the whole though, the game lacks depth past the levels, but the amount of fun I had still constituted a good buy. The camera and other such annoying things are tolerable just as they are in any other game that we've dealt with in the past. Get used to it, programming is hard.

Yeah the camera can be annoying at time but seriously how many 3rd person games actually get the camera right? I think the camera is just another obstacle in making a game challenging. So what if you have to memorize a little more of the game to finish a race here or there. I for one had not problem redoing the rooftop races a couple times if needed because they were fun to me. Before I use the word I again I will shut up now.

The only time I've ever really had a problem with the camera angles is on the rooftop races when you race up the towers.. that's kindof annoying but you deal with it

I love the game though.. I see what you mean about it being short though.. the achievements keep me coming back and playing it more though (achievements :rock ), but I see what you mean about it seeming rushed.. sometimes with some 360 games it feels like the companies rushed the game itself, but put in ridiculously hard achievements to make it seem like the game lasts longer than it really does
