Pummells Weedkiller Technique

Hey guys. Im just trying to get the last A grade I need for this game... but I cant for the life of me master this weedkiller move...

I know you can get brutals from using it on the trolls.. but all I can get is carnage points. Im using it.. waiting for it to charge and go green and when I uppercut... I only get carnages.. whats the secret ?

yes mate, I have B Smooths video... and have studied the move. But everytime I pull it off... it just gives me a carnage and not a brutal. I'm sure this weedkiller method alone should give me a brutal. Perhaps you have to charge it for a certain time before uppercutting... or the troll needs to have a certain number of health points lost to get a brutal. Im not sure.

Yeah, you know that if you charge long enough (3-4 seconds?) you will see some green smoke or something like that with the "tornado" he makes? Than you'll get a brutal :)

Are you hitting them a few times before you let go of the left trigger? That might be the problem. Tho the highest I can get is 4.5 mil on that level so maybe I'm not the best person to ask :D

Tried the technique again and its mostly trial and error, whether I get a brutal or not... perhaps you are right Winwood and the problem is the fact that I am slicing the trolls before letting go of left trigger. I will try again, lol.

I can see this level being a nightmare to get the required points for A.

Don't get me wrong - I think you have to hit them a few times before releasing the trigger to get the brutal and I'm having the same nightmare :) I went through and thought I was doing so well only to finish with 5 mil and some change ... bugger.

Hey man, I got a brutal everytime using that move. Make sure it charges fully, bumping into them with the slicer thing helps a lot, but as long as its fully charged you WILL get a brutal though...If you release early you'll just hit them into the air, you need to make them explode with it to get the brutal. Make sure you use Rubble for the Doom Trolls as well on that level, it helps a LOT!

all u have to do is hold the button then when pummel weed starts making green smoke on top of his head go to the troll u want to destroy and release

nothing u do affects this move unless u dont hold long enough
i suggest u get the sprit up upgrade

equip pummel weed with the spike top and kill the doom trolls with it then release on any troll other than doom troll

You know I'm not going to leave you the dark, mate.

Go into Creeper by pressing both Triggers (check to make sure that your spirit bar is reasonably high, having the blue eye equipped never hurts, and may even HELP with this one, more on that later). If Pummel Weed is fully upgraded, he'll have those thorns on his top leaves. You need to be careful about not touching the trolls until after you're primed for a Weedkiller.

Having the Eye of Spirit equipped will make your NORMAL damage attacks less for using other normal attacks. Good news is Brutal attacks will still kill in one shot. This is more forgiving so you don't kill off the trolls before YOU'RE ready.

Also, be cogniscent that just because you're in Creeper mode you are neither invisible nor invincable. Be sure and keep your spacing until you're ready to strike. Also, you can use this as an opportunity to group a few together, since if you strike two foes at the same time, you'll get 2B's, 2C's and 1F to boot.

In Creeper, hold down your LT until you start spinning rapidly and the green cyclone appears. Letting go of LT or running out of spirit will pull you out of the ground and unleash your troll-cleansing fury.

Go kick some ass now, plant Warrior style!

Thanks to everyone for the tips - finally got past it. :D The funny thing is that I passed my old high score by 25 mil and some change :) My problem was getting hit at the part with the doom trolls - it wasted so many points. Once you get that it's a lot easier. Good luck Dave! :D

Thanks Winwood... I feel so alone now! Somehow I must succeed. How much room for error is there in this level? I mean, the airship level you could pretty much get all points required in the first room!lol

Just get the beginning right and get a couple of brutals and frenzies if you can, make sure you don't get hit by the trolls under the shells or the archers. Once you get to the part of the level with the doom trolls, you need to get into focus two or three times without getting caught by the doom trolls when they appear. But you should be able to get the points for the level here. Make sure you don't have the eye of strength equipped or you will kill the trolls too quickly when trying to get into focus or when trying to kill the doom trolls. Just be patient, follow B Smooth's video and you'll get it :)
