Somehow my EA account won't link to my gamertag and now I can't download any of the pre-order items or the cerberus network. I try adding my gamertag to my EA account and it says "Sorry, that Xbox LIVE Gamertag has already been taken. Please try another one."
I don't have any other EA accounts and I already put the codes in on masseffect.com and now they're in use, so they won't let me use them on Xboxlive. I only have the option of paying the 1200 points or redeeming code. I redeem code and it says it's in use.
I'm going nuts and I'm not dishing out 1200 points for something that I just got with my game today for free.
*EDIT* I also lost my Terminus Gear as well, but my Blood Dragon Armor is on the download list.

I feel your pain man, altough I haven't got my copy yet ( I get it tomorrow or thursday )
I think all this EA Account stuff is terrible, if seen many threads today of people not being able to get their content, I only have the Blood Dragon armour and will get the Cerberus Network card.
I hope that things will work out for you man ! :(

Not being able to drag saves from a different HDD/Console is right up there as well (though, not sure if this is confirmed). I'm going to be pissed if I can't drag my Characters over when I get home.
Let's be honest here, there's more than enough players that have had some hardware failure since ME1 and are playing on a different console.

Call EA support or go to support.ea.com/chat
tell them the problem and they will fix it, I just spent 1.5 hours on hold to fix this issue.

Friggin I was waiting for chat and phone at the same time and what happens? They hang up on me and they cancel my chat? Thus now here I am waiting all over again for chat/phone. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! WHY DOES EA SUCK SO MUCH!?! Why can't they be like everyone else and just put their DLC on the marketplce?

Same thing happened to me. I got my Blood Dragon armor, but my Terminus Armor/Gun aren't showing up. Now I can't even log into the bioware site. I can still sign in to the EA site but they have no info on ME2.

I figured something like this would happen when EA took over. They always have their own redeem code instead of just giving an XBL code. Ridiculous.

I had to re enter the info over and over for like half an hour because the servers were totally over capacity...typical EA crap, next they'll sell level ups and skill points for 800 ms points or something, they've totally whored out all of the sports games. EA is the worst thing that could happen to a quality company like bioware...hopefully ea won't have any control over the dlc or things will really end up sucking.

I don't have an EA account and even though I have the free pre-order Gamestop stuff I doubt I will get it if I need to go to the EA site to get it. If I could just enter the code in game (i.e. Dragon Age) or straight onto the XBox Redeem Code area then I would do it.
Too much crap to go through for an armor that is probably low level enough to where you would replace it by level 10 anyways.
-edit
Now I go and read to get the free Zaeed you have to sign up anyways? What a load of bollocks!
I'm going through the same crap and I just sent in an email to EA. Hoping something will get fixed by either giving me another code of fixing my accounts.
The fact EA has to use their own system instead of Microsoft's standard 25-digit redeem system is bull shit.

Im also having major probs with the DLC items. 1st off, I ordered my game straight from the EA website and got an email with a redeem code for the Inferno Armor which i put in their site as instructed as of tuesday about 10:30 am EST and since I didnt have the game yet it downloaded to my PC and I cant use the Inferno armor at all. Secondly, I have Dragon Age Origins and got the Blood Dragon Armor in the CE game and when I put in the ME2 disc to redeem my code, the armor was already there without me using the original code at all and the cerberus network DLC was also there but what the hell does it do meaning the Network DLC. I also got the collectors armor and rifle and put them in on the website and its not showing up in the game anywhere. I wrote EA an emial and they said they will answer my question within 24 hours. any suggestions on what i can do or what i did wrong

I'm with you! This crap has me leaning towards NEVER buying an EA related game new again.
This has to be EA trying to do an end run around MS to set up their own DLC network to keep MS from getting a % of the DLC sales. After all pissing off this many customers is either about money or EA is the most retarded company on the planet

I started up the game and went to download the Cerberus Network. When I first clicked on it it said FREE, so I figured everything was fixed, but after I clicked Confirm it took 1200 points from me. Now MicroCRAP owes me 1200 points, I'm never pre-ordering anything from EA again.

EA has sold extra skill points in games.
And Godfather series (Either 1 or 2) had purchasable money.

This has been a nightmare.
The included card TOLD me to go to the EA.com website and register....so I did. Then it tells me to click on "redeem code" on the site...which I can't find anywhere. I spent over a half an hour looking for it, only to find out that it is on Bioware's site (odd...no mention of that on the instruction card they gave). Anyhow, I put in the code, and it tells me to restart my Xbox and the content will be there! (Sounds great, but I didn't remember putting in my Gamertag when I signed up, so I'm a bit confused). I do some searches but can't find any info. I've now been screwing with this stupid code for about 45 minutes.
Finally, I start the game. As soon as it loads, the 360 asks for my code. (I think..."Oh, that's why it didn't need my Gamertag. I put the code in on the website, then when I put it on my 360, it matches them up, and I'm good to go!") So, I put in the code...and the system responds: "That code is already in use. You can buy a new one for 1200 MS points" ($15).
Whu?
I figure out that it is likely because my gamertag isn't linked, so I search EA.com for another half an hour, and can't find the option anywhere. After a few more Google searches, I dig up a buried link. Woo-hoo!
I run to the form and find where to link my Gamertag...it's under "Add Persona." (What?? How was I ever supposed to find that??) I click the box for "Existing Xbox Live Gamertag" and enter "pmWolf."
"Gamertag is already in use. Please select another."
At this point, I'm dangerously close to throwing fecal matter in anger.
Well...yeah that Gamertag is in use...it's MINE.
More google searches follow, along with a futile search for EA's customer support. I do end up in a Chat Support box, with a 27 minute wait for help. At the end of the wait, the box says: "There are no representatives to help you."
Fecal matter now thrown.
I do email their support with the problem I'm having, because the only phone support number I can find is not a toll-free number. I tell them about the code, the gamertag, and the inability to download all the "Cerberus Network" goodies that I should get for buying their new game, etc.
At this point, I've wasted about two hours, and I want to stab someone at EA. I finally give up and play the game. I'm in a horribly bad mood, but at least the game is good.
This morning I get this response back from their customer service:
************************************************** **************************

OMG! I wasn't aware EA took over Bioware. I was planning on buying ME2 today but thank god I decided not to. I hate EA so bad. I am giving up on the Madden series and probably will give up on the NCAA Football series if they keep selling extra DLC to level up like Madden 10 did.
That being said how is the game? I might rent it but I am extremely disappointed that EA took over Bioware and I won't bother buying it unless it really impresses me when I rent it.

I don't supposed it occured to anyone that that EA isn't trying to "Circumvent MS by setting up their own DLC system" How about the fact that DLC is available for the PC? Does MS own the internet? No, just Xbox Live.
I bought DA:O On PC, and ME1 and ME2 on Xbox. Seem to me the only way I'd get my Dragon Armor on Xbox is if EA has a way of tieing their site to XBL, which they do.
EA's System is working fine, I got my Dragon Armor for both games on their correct systems. IT kills me, every there's Free DLC You see all these hate posts regardless of who made the game.
Kink's are in every system people, Contact the ones responsible and get it straightened out, or if you're patient it may straighten itself out, I've seen that happen tons of times too, like the whole Ghostbuster's fiasco.

@pmWolf: Same EXACT thing happened to me...just no fecal throwing. I went through 5 different, approx. 30 minute Live Chat sessions, waiting for an agent. Each time, with 3 people ahead of me, it says my chat has been canceled. I finally find their support line, call and it says they stop accepting calls at 9:00pm. I look at my phone, 9:01. Earlier today, I was ready to call EA again, but couldnt find their number in my contact list, but then remembered I put it in as "SCREW YOU EA" After waiting on the phone for 1 hour, 27 minutes, a support member comes on. Fixes my problem within 5 minutes, and I have all the DLC. But I was confused with my e-mail response. I don't F***ING CARE ABOUT THE DA:O ARMOR!! I WANT MY TERMINUS GEAR!! I finally got what I wanted, and have only played Mass Effect 1 since......I'll think about getting my $60 worth in a week or two once I accept the fact that EA is a part of ME2. I accidently left my xbox on today for a couple hours while downloading the DLC, why didn't I just turn it off? But I'm kind of mad it didn't melt the damn game. Maybe some fecal matter thrown on it will do the job! Thanks for the advice Wolf!!

Judging by what everyone's said, I guess there's only one way to fix my problem.. sigh, calling EA support.
Everything that happened to Wolf, even the fecal matter being thrown, happened to me yesterday. Finally figured out that I had an older account, I guess from Dragon Age or Dead Space, who the hell knows. I tried unlinking my profile on it because I already redeemed the codes on the new account, won't let me. Thought about changing my 360 profile name and see if I can link to that on the new account, since I was gonna get a name change soon anyway.. Nope, for some reason now it says I have to validate my account. On both accounts, and i've gotten no confirmation emails on EITHER inbox.
I don't wanna call EA.. Blegh, i'll do it tomorrow if i'm not still raging. I don't wanna yell at the poor minimum wage employee on the phone.

This link will give you detailed instructions on how to link your gamertag to your ea account
I did this the reeeeally easy way.
Step#1
Goto masseffect.com like most of the of the codes say (yeah the cerberus card messed up), log in with your EA account and click the redeem code button.
Step#2
Put all your codes in here.
Step#3
Put ME2 in your Xbox and start it up. Tell it you accept the terms for Cerberus
Step#4
Put in your EA account email and password.
Step#5
While still in Mass Effect, download content from the Cerberus computer.
Step#6
Enjoy.
Seriously guys Half the bitching in here is USER error. I can understand being confused by the redeem code button not being on EA.com, but I solved that easily by looking a the other codes I had and they all say go to masseffect.com and put the codes in there.
Everything else is done on your Xbox. No linking gamertags to accounts, no inputting codes into the Xbox. All that BS is WRONG.

Only two things I can say to that, You put your codes into the wrong EA account, or...
You may have gotten one of the incorrectly printed Cerberus cards that had a CE armor code instead of a Cerberus Code, In which case EA is already working to make all those Codes retroactively activate Cerberus as well.

I only have 1 EA account. I've had the same EA account since the PS2 days. So if it's anything, it'll have to be that they gave me the wrong code, but I thought that was for the CE? I didn't know they gave the regular edition the wrong codes.

People had the same issue when they bought battlefield 1943, after puchasing the game they still only had access to the demo, EA blames Microsoft and they blame EA, it can be fixed, takes a little bit of time (like 2-3 hours) search some of the BF1943 forums for EA account issues. If I find a link I'll post it here for you.

PS. i can't believe all the money EA makes with differents game titles especially with their sports titles they will fix their server, but years after years no improvement. EA has the worst servers out there. And i'm allowed to say that because i'm a hugh sports fan and plays alot of EA sports games, madden, nba, ncaa, fifa etc etc etc and anyone who's familiar with EA can agree. i don't know how their servers is on the playstation network and i will NEVER be able to find out cause i'm NOT a playstation 3 supporter. i love my xbox360. i love it so much that both of my boxes got banned last december and the very next day i went and bought 2 more xbox360. anyway this is no disrespect to EA and PS3 supporter.

The whole created another EA acct, downloaded the codes and now I cant link my gamertag happened to me......so i just linked the new EA acct with the terminus gear to my wifes Gamertag and when I went into Mass Effect 2 on her Gamertag it just showed up. So I downloaded it to the HD and when I signed her out and me back in, voila! it was there for me to use too. Hope this helps if you dont want to deal with EA. I can't get my terminus, collector or dragon armour and guns to work for some reason. They were all working fine until my xbox crashed and I had my console replaced (same hard drive though) and when I played again it said my dlc is corrupt so I deleted it and downloaded them all again and then got ready to start again with my collector armour (personal favourite) and it said it is corrupt and I need to download it again. My cereberus armour however is fine and it is newly donwloaded. The hard drive and gamertag are the same the only difference is the console yet it appears I can not use my dlc now. Any suggestions?

STOP...just wait.
Same happened to mne, kind of. I put the wrong email address to link to my EA, but principal stays the same.
Very simple to fix.
I called EA customer service in the UK, i know your in Ohio, but it was only a 5 minute call. Give em your details, i.e gamercard, and EA account details.....they will merge everything for you, as well as cerberus network. Also, i tried my luck, and they gave me the collector equipment aswell, so i can sell the one i got in Collectors Edition - but Cerberus Network is shit as you ALWAYS have to wait for it to establish a connection, even if you turn off auto sign in.

What's even worst is once you do download everything, you have to be online to play this damn game, otherwise you can't even load your saved games with the DLC.
I want them to fix this crap, there's just no excuse for it, why do I have to be online in order to play for what I paid for?

Go to EA Customer Service, select Email Us, then select Platform and Game, put the following: Microsoft Xbox™ 360 > Mass Effect™ > Mass Effect 2™
And then for Category select: My Account / Billing > Account Linking > Gamertag not Detected
Tell them that you have been trying to link your Gamertag and give them the following information:
Gamertag:
Email address associated with gamertag:
Email address associated with EA Account name:
Birthday:
I sent my email to them yesterday and they solved it within 5 hours I hope this helps.
