Forum Additions (3/6/07)

I just wanted to make note of some changes that have Routine (and DaWebb and Franco) has been hard at work on for improving the site...


Addition of Subscribe PayPal button http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/subscribe.gif (Along with awards for the different tiers)
Addition of 2nd Navigation Bar (with the site HomePage added)
Ranking System for each member (example - http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/images/ranks/Patriarch.png)
More detailed Leaderboard - with the addition of latest 360voice posts, Gamescorechart, number of completed games, and more statisticsWe hear your suggestions, so make sure to voice your opinions and ideas... who knows, it could end up in a future update.

Well heres a thought...It may get shot down immediately but what the hell ya know. I was think that even though you can look and see who's signed in n'such and message people via live why not have a small chat box open on a certain page to allow online users to find people quickly for urgent achievement trading help etc...just like the box on flea's league site.

1. i love almost all of the additions! the only thing i dont really like is the 'forum home' button. seems a tad repetitive to me.
2. i think it would be cool to sort the members by # of posts, there status( like stars and rank and such) and by how long theyve been a member.
like click members button, then there'd be diff buttons at the top to sort them by.
idk just somethin i thought would be cool.

I love the new features! They add a bit of pizazz to the site.

I must disagree with Fonkey though, I'm a huge fan of the Forum Home button (it's always been there, just as Home) so I've grown accustomed to using it.

I love the Awards link too, it might have always been there but now it sticks out and I think today was the first time I ever visited. Now where do I complain (for lack of words) about missing awards? I'm getting almost as addicted to those as achievements.

I like the additions, but instead the # of posts, you should incorporate the time a member has been here. There are some people out there who just joined no more then a month ago and have some of the highest # of posts ive seen:(

Good job! Let's keep up the good work. Maybe add a completion % leaderboard and total achievements leaderboard. I think that would be cool!

The new additions was supposed to be a hidden test, but got noticed quickly and than there was no way going back :p

The leaderboards still needs some tweaking as I've only optimized the layout for the "xbox360 Fixed" template. Some other changes you could expect the next couple of days:
* Another column to the leaderboards with the forum username since a lot of people don't use the same username as the gamertag.
* More statistics on the stats page for each gamertag.
* More statistics on the leaderboard for every game (like total/average achievements/points etc).
* Leaderboards based on country.

The Forum Home button could be a little repetitive on the xbox360 skin since it has a Home button on the "Xbox DVD Tray" image at the top, but the code was something to be implemented on all skins. Since a lot of people requested it, we decided to add it and seperate the menus and putting Home, Forum Home, Leaderboards and Awards on a seperate line to make them more visible.

Have the prerequisites for earning a certain rank been posted anywhere? Meaning, what does it take to earn each rank. (# of posts, posts/day, member since, etc.)

Have you canged the forum name colour because on some of the threads i was on the post number of that thread was red as was everyboys names, and the "more...." on their site awards.:) :confused:

Don't make it another column, it'll be cluttered when you put the game stats in there. Make it appear below the gamertag in a smaller font.

Why do some users not have a ranking? I've seen several people who don't have the rating car underneath their name. Is it a work in progress or is something wrong?

That will be because they have [not] posted since the update, thats all. Once someone posts, their ranking gets updated.

Just incase there was confusion he means because they have not* posted since the update, and i will take effect once they do.:)
