I have a couple of questions that only Canadians can help me with, since I am not from Canada I don't know your policies and what not.
1. How easy it for an American to get a job over their and would you need some sort of working visa or permit that would allow you to even work their.
2. If you had a job their even as a US citizen would you get medical and other Canadian benefits covered.
3. Say if you up and left your husband for another man and had 2 kids, could you even live their and file for a divorce without ever having to go back to the US.
4. How long is the process if you want to change citizenship, also would you have to pay both US fed taxes and Candian taxes
And no this isn't about me lol I would appreciate any Canadians that know the answers to these questions I know I am forgetting something too :) It would mean alot and thanks :)

This answer Job permits, taxes, and anything job related to Canada and US:
http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq13.html
As for immigrating to canada:
http://www.immigrationfirm.ca/faq.html
I also looked up divorces and I saw a case where a US citizen married a Canadian citizen and apparently it doesn't make a difference. But it seems like you have to go to the courthouse in the state where the people were married.

All I can tell you is if the person in question is planning to take the two kids with them, she could very well end up in jail. That could be considered tantamount to kidnapping.

You're right, it is treated as a kidnapping by the authorities. And it isn't even as simple as that since it would not only be across state lines, but out of the country. The only way children could be removed from the original county (not to mention state or country) of residence of the parents is with the legal consent of both parents. That means that they have to get divorced first, then have the court-documented approval of both parents for the children to leave the area to live with the mother.
As for the divorce bit, it depends on the husband. If she up and takes off, it's abandonment on her part. He could then sue her for divorce for abandonment and adultery. She would then have to appear in the local court of wherever she was originally from during the whole proceeding. That's lots of travel money combined with all associated legal fees. And this is also assuming that she does not take the children with her for the reasons mentioned above.

that would depend on which part of Canada you live in.

Which part are you referring to? I'am interested in knowing. As far as I'am concerned all of it is.

i'm just pointing out the obvious fact that each area is vastly different in terms of things like cultures or opportunities. views on that would vary from person to person, though personally, i wouldn't want to live on the prairies or NB/PEI. In terms on opportunities, i live in calgary currently, and i used to live in halifax. Halifax had no job opportunities, but most of the infrastructure was intact. Calgary has so many job opportunities but it is unable to keep up in terms of housing or transit etc. i love calgary, but this place is going to hell as hospitals are severely backed up to the point that emergencies are being flown out of the country, mothers are miscarrying in the waiting rooms because there is no one to see them.

Ouch that's pretty serious. Well I live in Montreal and I love it here! I've visited PEI and you're right about the job opportunities, but if you do happen to find a good job there, it would be an AMAZING place to raise a family. Virtually no crime, little to no pollution (no industry), the place looks amazing and the people are extremly friendly :)

Yeah, in terms of jobs all of Alberta is crazy. So many people I knew moved out there last summer. It's just a huge place to make a lot of money right now.
