"Conquest for Kyushu"
Alright guys, this one is really starting to cheese me off. Not only in perceived difficulty, but in principle.
For those that haven't played the game in a while, this is the last one for Kotaro, and he's the angry ninja guy that wants all of Japan to be in chaos. So he unites with the other ninjas of the former Hojo clan and they go and beat up on everybody whom you haven't killed yet.
The tricky part is that to win, you need to kill off about five or so of the enemy officers, but you are defeated whenever one of the officers in your army dies.
What freaking nimrods. They run out by themselves, and meanwhile you're fighting about 15 Nene doubles all at the same time because you decided to sweep the bastards out from the Southeastern corner and you aggro'd her spawn. Whatever. Meanwhile, while you're kicking her as for the 14th time, one of your officers in the northwest corner of the damn map is "struggling" so he needs mighty Kotaro's help to get him out of this little bind. And when he dies as you cross the map with 7 angry kunoichis behind you, well, you lose.
3 times. Different guys, dying at different times.
This sucks because you can't coordinate your attacks. You can't tell the other officers to chill the fuck out in the main camp while YOU go and kick some ass. No, they have to be the hero too, so you're babysitting about 6 officers that travel down six paths.
It sucks in principle because of who Kintaro is. Dude likes chaos, right? Why does he care if an officer on his army dies? It's not him, and he freaking gets a boner over people dying anyhow, it seems.
My take is that it should be like most of his other missions, where you're defeated if he dies (duh), but then too, I haven't seen the end of this chapter because of the retard AI officers.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Morale is the key to victory, this is extremely important to every battle. You can raise morale by completing the objectives that you are given and also for every 50 kills. Close every enemy gate that you come across and try not to leave any enemies around you allies. Play on easy if you aren't already, and grab a friend to help you in split screen.

Finally got it on my seventh try. There will probably be some of you that have problems with this, so a quick write up is in order I suppose. And yah, THERE MAY BE SPOILERS (oooh!).
Start off by taking out the Reserve captain right in front of you (North). Sucks bad to have enemies pouring into your main camp and you shouldn't have to reclaim this one for most of the level.
Head back into the main camp as soon as the Reserve captain is gone. Follow Naomasa II out the east entrance and chase him up the hill. The "I'm blocking that pass" cutscene with the boulders and trees will happen next, and that's a good thing if you're Ieyasu Tokugawa. Not so good for Kotaro, since it makes your next batch of enemies harder.
Naomasa II will aggro Yoshiro Shimazu. Let them mix it up a bit (yeah, right) and head North again to the Reserve Captain at this point. This will thin out the constant stream of enemies you have to fight. On the way, you'll probably end up battling it out with Shimazu, two of his guards and the Reserve Captain.
You obviously can't go back the same way, so don't stress it. Head South from the reserve point to where the road curves West, and follow that downhill and back to your base. This time, go back out the North exit on your base and head West to meet up with the retarded Yasumasa Sakakibara, who will be in some shit if you can't get to him at the Central Garrison (you get a 200 gold monetary bonus for clearing this out, BTW). If tons of peon enemies isn't your style, once you show up and do the officer cutscenes, break out the West exit and head South to the Reserve gate, and take out that Captain. The officers will follow you out so be ready to maneuver.
After you take out Sakon Shima (annoying guy with big sword), Musashi Miyamoto (not as cool as Shigeru, but he has two katanas for good measure), and Hideie Ukita (and all of their guards), go back into the central garrison and exit the North gate. By now, you've probably already gotten the message that "Tadatsugu Sakai is struggling" and he is, up in the Northeast. Make your way up there along this path. You'll probably run into Ginchiyo Tachibana (Lightning sword girl) and Yoshimune Otomo along the way, so better now than later, unless you just want to bring them all to the fort to help your guy out.
Hanzo will be a dumbass and start going to the southern camp, and on the way probably make some new friends. He held up pretty damn well when I was playing so don't worry too much. After you rescue Sakai, head back West across the whole map and battle Mistunari and his buddies in the far West camp. The doors will close, so make the best of your time until he is defeated.
Ah, Nene. Book it to Hanzo's location where he will quite likely almost be finished with Hideaki Kobayakawa. The two of you will head in the North entrance and start battling metric tonnes of Nene's. Don't forget that there is a weapon box near the North Entrance and some Gold near the reserve point. It seemed to go faster and not be quite so annoying with Hanzo in there too. After Nene dies, you think you beat the level and you're wrong. The ambush appears and almost all of the officers are back, just North of the main camp.
You should be kinda familiar with the map by now, so get in the camp as quickly as possible, and be thankful you took out the reserve captains along the way. Help Ieyasu, who will need it the most and let all the officers come into the camp. Mix it up, pick them off one by one, and hopefully you can get through this one faster than I did. If this helps you at all, let me know.
Happy gaming!

I'm on the very same mission with Kotaro. I only tried it once last night and Yasumasa Sakakibara was defeated just after I finished defeating the 10 Nene clones. I was extremely pissed and gave up for the night. I will try your strategies later when I give it another shot.
This game really needs to give you the option to control where your other officers go during battles, especially on missions where none of your allied officers can be defeated. I had another one like this a few days ago and it took like 4 tries to get it right.
My other pet peev is that your allied oficers can't take care of themselves in battle. They're ALWAYS struggling. I'm tired of going back and forth across the map to save them. The one time it said "your allied main camp is in trouble" or your commader is struggling, so I go to the main camp and I find 2 peon enemies that needed 1 hit apiece to kill. You mean to tell me that the commander or the captain of your main camp couldn't kill those 2 enemies?
end rant.

Well met, bro. I totally understand you.
Why for once can it not say "Your commander is under attack, but is kicking much ass so he doesn't need your help."
Or something like that. I swear that there are times in this game where it would be easier if you were the only officer in the field. I also like how somebody can be 'struggling' against an enemy officer for like 7 minutes and when you finally clear up your schedule to go assist, your guy has lost like half his health and the enemy officer isn't even damaged yet.
Pfft.
Try out the steps I outlined above, and let me know if that helps you out at all. Means a bit more to us grizzled vets if we know our write-ups help out our protogé.

Yeah it worked great. The only thing that I would add is that after you defend the northeast garrison, Naomasa Il is battling someone (i forget his name but both first and last names started with a K) in the northwest garrison, on the way to fighting Mitsunari............well at least he was in my game.
That was a pain in the ass when you have to go back to main camp after defeating Nene. I ended up fighting 4 officers at once and that sucked ass lol. I got through it though. :woop:

Four tries but I just finished it and im pretty proud of myself lol. The trick for me was to make sure your the first one into the enemy camp or your guy there is screwed you also have to make sure you destroy the attack up the middle quickly and run back and help the ambushed gui Li hes a major Pussy and dies alot.... Then you run up and take the North East Garrison by now you go back and kill the guys Hanzo is fighting and the NeNe's.... THen you just run quickly to the fort (thats why i went to hanzo first two of your guys should be fighting a guy in the upper left corner) kill him run into the base kill the guys there than back to your base.... that last part is actually pretty difficult because their all attacking you at once i got my ass kicked for a bit until Hanzo showed up and helped me....
