Empty slot on Charactor Sceen

Sorry if this has been posted before but on the Charactor Screen when you press start you have 5 Slots on the right.

Lifestone Shards
Wrath Shards
Abyssal Armor
Armageddon
and a blank slot..

Does anyone know what that slot is there for? the reason behind having ablank slot when you have collected everything the game has?

that blank slot is for the hearts of the chosen

Ohh I see.. that answers that then, I never looked at that screen after defeating the Bosses so never noticed.
