controller issue, help needed

hi, recently when ive used my wireless black controller, it says i have my wired headset (what ive currently lent to my brother) plugged in, and turning my wirless headset on, puts it in player slot 2 and it doesnt pick up my voice, i can still hear people tho and the noise when you join a party. and for some reason, voice thro TV (the setting on my preferances is set to thro headset only.
how can i fix this?

and to be sure it is my controller, i turned my xbox off, turned my wireless guitar on, then my headset and it worked fine, people can hear me, and there not coming thro my TV.

Wow. So, just to make sure, yur wired headset is NOT plugged in right?

its deffo not plugged in since my brother is lending it and has been for the past 3 weeks

Try re syncing your controller by pressing the sync button on your xbox and on your controller and see if that helps. If not then I dont know what you can do.

Not to sound like an idiot, but have you tried blowing the slot that the headset plugs into? If that dont work, i dont know what will other than suggested before...
