With The Outfit demo coming out sometime on the 3rd of March I'm going to go ahead and create a demo thread. This way every one can discuss the demo when it's released.

Well unlike the GRAW demo and Battlefield demo which was speculation, they actually gave a day. I'm pretty sure they would be tons of disappointed people if it wasn't released.

The day isn't over yet.

March 3, 2006 - Following the pre-game releases of Fight Night Round 3 and Full Auto, THQ is prepping to release a playable demo of its upcoming military combat game, The Outfit.

The fully downloadable demo, due to arrive on Xbox Live Marketplace today for Xbox 360, enables players for the first time prior to the game's full release to play a totally playable online game.

Unfortunately, while THQ's demo is ready to go, the data is now in Microsoft's hands. "The Outfit demo has passed certification and is being transfered to marketplace," a THQ official told us. But the game may not hit marketplace today, he added. The demo may appear at any time between today and Monday, IGN learned.

For those prepped and ready to fight, keep your eyes on Xbox Live Marketplace over the weekend for the demo to appear. We'll have more soon.

So it wasn't out Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I guess the only other day is Monday huh? I guess we'll see.

Now the Oufit demo is more of a download to see if I want to buy the game instead of wanting to play it because I was bored AND wanted to try it out.

The demo is interesting, I want to spend a bit more time with it before I pass final judgement, but I have enjoyed it thus far. My only big problem with it so far is that I've noticed that some of the movement animations are kinda choppy, but that's something I can deal with and that will probably be dealt with in the final version.

As far as destructible stuff, well that part of the game is awesome. I blew up a vechicle while on a bridge and the explosion from the vehicle destroyed the bridge and me along with it...

My only complaint so far would be the graphics and that's not a big deal to me at all. I like the fact that you can do what you want with your points. You can defend by laying guns down or attack by hopping in a big tank. Air strikes are cool but way powerful. So far it's been fun laughing and talking about the game with others. Still undecided if I'm going to purchase but so far so good.

After playing awhile I think I fell in love with the game. This is one of those games where you either love it or hate. Next-gen? Meh. Fun? Hell yes!

I'll probably be picking The Outfit up when it's released. It's one of those games you can pick up, play and put it down. Certainly wont take up as much time as GRAW but when I need a break this will be it. I feels like a whole lot of different games. Battlefield, Mercs, Freedom Fighters. Good fun.

I played it, and then cancelled my preorder. The multiplayer is not fun at all to me, and the single player is only 12 missions long and worth a whole whopping 30 points. PDZ all over again. I'll rent it, but no way am I buying it, even with the faceplate. Especially not with all the other great games this month.

Only played it for a short time last nite so cant really comment till i play it more tonight but seems like it could be fun, didnt really know what i was doing tho :) i was just driving around in a tank firing off missiles! Very fun so far

Im very disapointed, the graphics are definately very last gen and probably could be managed on the ps2, the tanks look small and stubby and well a little pathetic, also whilst on the tanks the control is diabolical!

controls in general are a little...clunky but not the worst ive used

the environment is destructable..cool feature but black does it better and looks stunning at the same time

that said the squad AI whilst not stunning is servicable and they will attack and defend by them selves, use cover and available weapons such as machine gun emplacements.

some things are stupidly over powered, the air strike being one such thing.... but adds a fun angle to the multiplayer as its damn fun to see someones well defended base blown apart.

overall 4/10 however if the single player is any good this could raise to a 6

wait for GR:AW

Well I don't think we can say wait for GRAW. You're comparing a multiplayer 1 map demo to a whole game here.

Plus it doesn't hurt to download the demo. GRAW releases before Outfit anyway.

Yeah, I experienced alot of Lag in my time with the demo. I hope this is not an issue.

Lag has yet to be an issue with me. The only time I get the box that says connection problem is when someone is leaving the game. If you notice, it quite often does that.

Did that alot for me as well. Annoying that my team quit and I ran around trying to lay anti tank weapons all over the place to prevent the 40586574 Tanks that we're on the other side from kicking my ass.

I absolutely HATE people that drop out when the other team is winning.

Also, I can't stand people that have mics and don't talk. Oh, and have the TV up so loud I can hear their TV. And people who have kids and dogs barking in the mic. Oh yeah, and those people that sound like they ran 10 miles and then played.

I've played the demo a bit but I'm not sure on it. At first, I wasn't sure what I was doing and was running all over the place! I'm starting to get to grips with it, but I might need to look into the controls and bit more and find out what I'm supposed to be up to. At the moment, it feels like Battlefield in a way.

The demo isn't bad. The driving and shooting takes some time to get use to. Hopefully in single player you can have friendly A.I. shooting for you when you drive.
