Anyone else anticipating this? (The guy directed Fight Club and Se7en, by the way.)

"That Guy" is David Fincher and he's brilliant.

I'm seeing it tonight. graf1k and I have been talking about it all week.

Truth. I'm gonna be lame and see it next week though. Oh Mr. Fincher, spin me a beautiful tale of murder and the sickness of man!

Yea, i definatly want to see it, cuz it is based on the serial killer that terrorized the area where i now live. Of course before i was born, but its still interesting. Before i even knew the story, i was at the area of the lake where he killed a couple (Lake Berryessa). And now that i know it, its even more creepy!

Brilliant is really quite a stretch. Bergman is brilliant, Hitchcock is brilliant, Fincher is... not bad.

In contemporary terms, Fincher could be considered brilliant.

Anyway, I saw Zodiac today and really enjoyed it. Anyone that does not appreciate methodical films that cover everything from A to Z is probably going to find themselves bored with Zodiac at one time or another, but I had no problem with the length of the film. Most of the information in the movie was new to me and while I can see certain edits being beneficial after multiple views, I don't think it hurts the film. I loved it. Just some advice though. Anyone going in and expecting Se7en 2 should rethink their expectations.

Im saving my movie money for Friday's release of 300.

From what graf1k said I don't really think that I'd enjoy the movie.

Well, I saw it on the film's release and I thought it was a bit too long. Very few parts could have been cut, but if not, I still felt it might have been about 10 minutes too long. It was around 2:40-3 hours.

Anyways, I thought the beginning was awesome, the middle was somewhat sluggish, and the end was just wtf (the last scene). Though it stayed true to the book for the most part, the end just should have been fiction or something. It was the worst ending IMO.

Wtf was with the guy in the basement?

After watching the previews, I'm gonna see Disturbia and Shooter.

300 and this are the 2 films that I can't wait to see. This has gotten surprisingly good reviews and I already like the story :)

Ok, this I will somewhat hesitantly give you.

I hope I can get around to it this weekend. If I can't, I fear I'll have to wait for the DVD, which I think might ruin part of the experience.

I had actually read Robert Graysmith's book back in high school. True crime (especially unsolved crimes) interest me, and it was a very good read.

I thought the movie was pretty slow, but if you're interested in the story, you won't really notice that much. I rather enjoyed it and thought all the acting was fantastic. Great movie!

After a real train wreck of a first half this movie turned out to be quite good. I was on the verge of leaving during the stabbing at the lake, but I'm glad I stuck around. This doesn't mark the first time Fincher had something to say, but I think this is the first time that message has been, you know, relevant. Highly recommended.
