Today I reached new heights in my search for The Ultimate Sandwich, recovering from last week when things went downhill.

I was going to take a picture, but I starting eating it as soon as it was done XD But The Ultimate Sandwich currently consists of:

Organic White Loaf (I'm not a hippy, it is just has favourable mechanical properties for sandwich construction)
Santo Lucia Mozzerella
Noodles (brand name undisclosed for legal reasons)
Knor Beef Stock Cube
Ultimate Tabasco

Next week I will be attempting The Ultimate Sandwich Mk.V, so far no ideas what I will use.

Any ideas or alternative recipies?

Go for the for the traditional chip butty and add stuff I wanna see what you can come up with, I personally recommend gravy but I've never tried anything else.

There must be a barrier to my understanding...most likely the Atlantic Ocean is the barrier in question. heh.

Why would you put noodles on a sandwich? And I guess "beef stock" isn't bouillon like us darn Yanks think of it...

Bouillion is pretty much beef stock as I understand it, but what is wrong with noodles on a sandwich? People have noodle salads, and there are salad sandwiches. Seems quite logical to me =D

And my method is to keep adding stuff, taking stuff away, trying alternatives and so on until I find the perfect combination. Brown bread and chorizo = bad. I was even feeling weird and tried one with fruity HP on, don't do it.

Okay, point taken....

I will give you my favorite sandwich to provide a contrast:

Francisco Extra Sourdough bread
Marie's Blue Cheese dressing
Philidelphia Whipped Cream Cheese
mustard
alfalfa sprouts
pepper bacon
pepper jack cheese
deli-sliced turkey
sharp cheddar cheese
deli sliced ham
spinach
mustard
Marie's Blue Cheese Dressing
Francisco Extra Sourdough Bread

mmmmm....getting hungry now and lunch is an hour away!!!

It's not that man, it's just Zef, thats the barrier :p

Meatballs and cheese :woop:

Or ham and melted cheese and ketchup:woop:

Both freakishly awesome :D

If Minty were here and not in Runcorn I would file a complaint for abuse, damned aeroplanes.

Meat and dairy products should not be mixed, it isn't natural. I was on the toilet and had a revelation (possibly like John only more biblical) of having grilled bacon, mozzarella, noodles and...drumroll here...wasabi =D I just need to find the latter.

You idiots make sandwiches like old people fuck.

A good sandwich is symetrical.

You take both pieces of bread and do exactly the same to each.

1) Apply butter
2) Apply lettuce or baby spinach
3) Apply meat (preferably beef or ham)
4) Apply cheese (preferably mature cheddar)
5) Lather in mayonaise and english mustard
6) Cut into triangles
7) Enjoy

Now fuck off

Best Ham and Cheese sandwich I ever had was in the UK.

In Wiggan to be exact at a small place called "Morgan's." Heard from my mate that the place is closed now.

Consisted of:

-Wheat Bread Slices x2
-Ham Slices x2
-Pepper Jack Cheese
-Honey Mustard

Damn right, simple, but does the job.

I use a biscuit cutter and make little pokémon shapes, such manly pokémon shapes.

Also, sandwiches shouldn't be symmetrical. You need to have an uneven distribution in flavour densities otherwise you are just going to overloaded by one big taste. Your tongue will thank you if you mix things up.

Go for the for the traditional chip butty and add stuff I wanna see what you can come up with, I personally recommend gravy but I've never tried anything else.

You can add melted cheese and tomato sauce to it,
thats the mutts nuts.

Stage 1
Heres how i do it,
make the chips,
while they cook cut the cheese into thin strips(white cheshire from asda)
and butter some bread.

Stage 2
put the chips on a plate,
throw the cheese on top and put under the grill,

Stage 3
when it starts melting take out burning hand on plate,
slam the plate down on the top,
cool hand under the tap,
cover the cheesy chips in tomato sauce.
bang them on your bread,
and there you go.

You can also have brown sauce instead of tomato.
No salad cream!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heres what i got on friday morning at work.

A mega barm,
(about 12 inches in diamater)
which has on it,

Scrambled egg,
Sausages,
Bacon,
Spam,
Black pudding,
Tomato and brown sauce.

You cant move afterwards,

People have been known to have the above with these on as well as the above.

Beans,
tomatos,
mushrooms,
and onions.

I call people that can eat 1 of them fat bastards.

There's a place here that I have been to and it is called "The Ultimate Sandwich", haha. I have only been there once but they definitely have an ultimate menu. I ended up getting a meatloaf sandwich which was pretty tasty, but I think I could have something a little more ultimate. Although I did have the ultimate craps afterwards.

haha my sandwiches aren't that ultimate. Mine is this:

2 slices of Multi grain/Whole Wheat/Honey Oats bready
2 slices of lean turkey or chicken
Lettuce
Tomato
Cucumber
Onion

Simple but healthy and tasty :)

You all really don't grasp the art of the sandwich, do you?

Pane Italian double thick bread
Lettuce wrapping up baby jalapenos
Tomato Slice
Fried Bacon Bits
Some quality colby jack
Seasoned chicken
Pizza Sauce
Steak
Some nice cheddar
Pepperoni
Something spicy
Tomato
Boars head beef
Pepper Jack cheese
Farmers spiced chicken
Oven Gold mild turkey
Double thick bread

Not quite a Dagwood, but it's close.

God, Friday, when I went home...I really wanted an egg-salad sandwich.
And I was just obsessing about it and I was like:"Man, I'm gonna make one of those."
So Saturday I went out and I got, like, a dozen eggs...and I boiled them all
and then I just...I spent, I don't know, probably three hours...like,
three-and-a-half hours making...you know, the mayonnaise and the onions
and paprika...and, you know, all the accoutrement.
And then, by the time I was done...I just really didn't feel like eating it.
And I didn't have any bread.

I haven't made that sandwich yet, it was just an idea =P Plus, since when has bacon been meat? Comes from bacon trees.

I might start making themed sandwiches rather than random tasty ones, it's more fun that way. I might even make a sandwich sandwich.

I don't know what the best sandwhich would be but my favourite is this Ł1.80 3 slices in 1 which I buy from my local Sommerfield, prawn with mayonaise in 1 slice (I think), ham and cheese in another and a salad type thing with meat in another. Yum yum yum, I love buying them when they're reduced cos they're going out of date, were reduced to 39p at one point and I bought a load. :D
