Ok so i keep reading the xbox will soon support MKV files with divx 7 , Now im confused about one thing will they build it into the next dashboard update or do you have to have Windows 7 to play them on 360.
From what i have read people with windows 7 can already use MKV on there 360s by downloading Divx 7 and some tech preview.
But i wanna know if theres hope for me XP media center edition.
kk thanks

If it has subtitle support, I'll flippin' sing! I've been missing out on so many Asian films as of late because I don't fancy sitting in front of a PC to watch them.
I have Win7 though, so I might go and look into that.

I have win 7 and still need to convert my mkv files to mp4 for them to play properly in my 360. If I can totally bypass the conversion process i'll be in heaven as I dont like having half my hard drive taken up by multiple copies of the same file.

man this is awesome. i don't use too many mkv's but i convert all my .mov files into them so this would be awesome if i can toss them on the 360.

This would be awesome since I have a handful of .mkv files and until I get an external hard drive I'm not going to bother making copies cuz I'm down to like 10GB of space with maybe 20GB of .mkv files
