Any suggestions for how to get around company internet site blocks.

For example I would like to read this message board at work but when I attempt to visit the site, I get a message that its a blocked site with a reason of games and/or gambling.

Any help would be appreciated!

Try using a anonymous proxy like http://www.the-cloak.com/login.html

It will go through another site to get to this site, but you will not be able to post, only view. Hope that helps :)

This is from RoutineX:

You can try to use web proxies like:
http://www.shysurfer.com/
http://www.the-cloak.com
http://anonymouse.org/anonwww.html
http://w00tage.com/

to surf. The only problem is that most of them doesnt allow users to use forms (like logging in with username and password) but will still allow browsing.

Personally I use anonymouse while at work.

you could go to college for Computer Science, graduate and strategically place yourself in the companies IT, immerse your self into the server division, then build the server that runs as a proxy or listener and then add yourself as an unrestricted admin...

or...

are you running through a proxy at work, and if so do they allow you to bypass it?

Well my work is one step ahead..

When I tried to use one of the above web links, I got another site block that with an error of "Provy avoidance site not allowed"

So looks like I will have to limit my board browsing to home.

Let me see if I can work something out. If I haven't contacted you in say 3 days, send me a PM ;)

find out if your company blacklists or whitelists, could be valuable information.

If you use Firefox, you could always try out the SwitchProxy plugin. The only downside is that you would have to get a list of proxy IPs when you are at home and then bring the list to work and try them out with the plugin.
