I'm talking like a weekly basis. They seem to come so randomly and out of the blue, with little real attraction or great desire. I think if we bumped it up to a per-week thing it would become more of a forum event, and not a distraction.
The simple fact that Minty goes away for a month as of now and I have my fingers in like 6 others pies that most of our time is currently taken up with this. We are aiming to make the site bigger, but where there is a benefit which will be in the future, things will be affected now. Thats just the way it is unfortunately. I can assure you however that once things settle down, these will be more and more frequent.

Yep, Im half way through one currently, but as Webby says, thats gonna be waiting for a month :p
And weve asked several times for suggestions on what people want to see us write about, yet never get a response.
And before people ask- the editorials are admin only. We have to get some privileges after all :p

Never say never, Minty, except when using the phrase "never say never"...I tossed a suggestion out there for ya after the last editorial came out. :woop:

Eh, I'm not really convinced that Administrator-only writings is really a necessary thing. As long as you're able to tell a person who pours their heart into something that it's crap, I think you should anyone submit.

Thats not how websites work though really is it? I mean, do IGN do that? :p
How about an editorial on whats so great about the 360,
Ive listed a few things i like about it, in the top 5 consoles post.

Well, if we're going to do what IGN does, why should I visit you guys instead of them, as it's the same information and ideals, only from a semi-respectable source? Just keep this in mind: it's awfully hard to get noticed if you look like everyone else.
Not everyone has the same up to date achievement details as ourselves, a cheat free leaderboard, gamer stats, news, loads of competitions like we do. So we're hardly following the pack. We are doing what we believe will make this site a huge success ;)

Ächieve360Points (real mature, blank it out) has the same, if not more, accurate information simultaneously or earlier than you. MyGamerCard has all the stats and news that one could hope for. I'm pretty sure your servers didn't crash the way Microsoft's did for their rewards program, and what good is a cheat-free leaderboard if it only includes people who joined because they want information how to get achievements without cheating in the first place? Did you know that I have the highest Gamerscore of all people with the tag MrFRANKO? That sounds quite like following the pack, as, let's be honest, I still do love you guys, you haven't surpassed it or created a worthwhile compilation super-database.
I've got a good idea, since everyone on the internet has it covered. We ought to give up now  lol
Thats not how it works fella though is it. We have the best online gaming community at the moment and getting bigger by the day. We are still a young site where the admin do this as a hobby BUT we continue to grow so we must be doing something right :p
And as far as the super database goes, we're only young and we like to benefit our users, whats the point in having peope on our user boards if they don't get involved in the community, we reward those that do get involved :)
Oh and following the pack? The majority of the staff were part of the original achievement website, so we are as original as they come. I would say some of the pack are following us now ;)

Since this is the exact same thing as the last post I commented on, I'll too re-write my last post, but in Russian.

Heh, I think editorials should be kept admin only, but a simple solution would be an admin/mod blog.

Continuously splitting the fora is an unquestionably bad idea. Where's the nationalism?
How have I repeated what you said?
You obviously never read what I put, I'll put it in laymens terms for you...
I said...
We are young
Original
It's a hobby for the Admin, so excuse us if we don't have enough time to write an editorial when you want.
Cheat free leaderboards are an incentive for the honest members.
You said...
We are unoriginal.
Cheat free leaderboard is hardly worth it.Comprende?

Not at all, but you did a banner job at misreading. Or perhaps I wasn't clear, if so, I'm sorry. I said the last post I commented ON, not the last post.

Just out of curiosity Lykos, what are you actually trying to get at here?
You said they need to be more regular- we said that after this month they would be, and we asked for suggestions on topics.
Up to then, seems logical. Then you say that it shouldnt be admin- unfortunately, it is admin only. Its the way the cookie crumbles. So far, all still on topic.
Then you basically start ranting about a load of crap. You asked- we answered. Simple.

Maybe, perhaps, users should be able to submit their own writings as a possibility for your monthly editorial that should become your weekly editorial.

I like having the Admin only editorials. As for Admin/Staff blogs, thats up to each user, but may be too much work. I keep a blog, but thats only because I stumble upon a lot of information in my daily line of work for the site.

I agree that the editorials need to stay a staff-only thing. If you feel like writing one then that means you must have an idea. Pass that idea on to those who will write it. Give them your points and it should be done. Hell, write the damn thing if you want, but pass it up. Whoever takes a look will probably want to use it. They may just proofread and realize that it's written well enough, too well to do it all again themselves without plaigerizing. In the end, your ideas for your own editorial won't go to waste no matter how much work you put into it.
