I saw 23 this weekend.... I would give it a 7-7.5 it was a good movie at best. JC was great as an actor, the plot was pretty cool... it was not superb by any means. The other supporting actors were ok at best.
I am not one for spoiling movies, so if you love JC, and you like suspenseful movies it's worth seeing in the big screen, especially with the lousy choices we have right now.

What exactly is this flick about? I've seen it advertised but never really grasped the concept.

Without giving anything away, I will try to explain it the best I can.
It's about a man that goes insane over the number 23. Everything has to do with 23... and he think the number is out to get him...
I could tell you more, and proably should, because that description was poor. I just really do not want to spoil anything... Check out a tailor online, see if it helps at all.

I'm a big fan of Jim Carrey and of course I liked it. I can't believe how bad some of the reviews are for it. But yeah If JC wasn't in it I probably wouldn't have liked the movie much.

I guess I'm not nearly as affected by an actor's history when watching them in a new movie as everyone else is. I easily start to recognize where I've seen someone but it never ruins the part for me and Jim's job in this movie was excellent. I hope he does more like this in the future.
Another thing about this movie that I liked (EXTREMELY shallow spoiler, shouldn't be bad) is how the family participated. I hate movies where the person can cry out for help and no one does anything. The main person is always isolated, but there were many players here, something refreshing and welcome.

Sorry to bring back such a dead thread, but I really liked this movie. I barely could keep watching it because around every corner I had to search for things to add up to 23.
Right after I turn off the movie I go to my cable guide. I'm on channel 285. 28-5=23. Strange? I thought so. Then about a split second later my girlfriend said "look" and pointed up to my Gears of War poster. Emergency Day 11.12.06 11+12=23. Then next to it is my poster of Resistance: Fall of Man which I quickly ran over. No 23 caught my attention. But what game system's the game on? Playstation 3. Playstation has eleven letters, also known as 11. 1+1=2 What number of the PS family? 3. 23.
Lot of coincides I know, but it's still weird as hell.
EDIT: DAMNIT! First thing I do after I submit the post is view my friends list. First friend online is playing that karate game. His score's 24100. 24-1=23.

I didn't like it. Jim Carey isn't a good serious actor imo & the end was kind of dumb. The suicide girl part was cool though.

I thought Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind or whatever was an excellent flick.

I liked it but the only problem I had with it was I guess the whole plot in the first 10 minutes :(

The number 23 is a real numerical enigma, and it does show up everywhere. Hell, look at the number in my GamerTag and add it up.
7+8+3+5= 23
Weird, huh?

I personally thought the movie was extremely stupid and predictable.
I had the whole movie figured out by 15 minutes in, and frankly, the rest of it was kind of boring. A sex scene every 5 minutes doesnt make a movie interesting to me. It was boring, and could've been a lot better than it was, TBH..
I'm glad I watched it, but I'd definitely never watch it again. Probably wouldn't recommend it to anybody..
