I have been watching the show Heroes on Mondays since it came out last year. I love the plot twists and comic book-like style of giving out information. If anyone else watches Heroes, post here!

Yep Yep, but really? The last time I tuned into Sci-Fi in England it was just crappy reruns of Battlestar Galactica lol...its been a while...

Yeah, the only other new shoe theyve bought in aaaages is the Dresde Files (not bad btw), and somehow they got Heroes.
Which is a real shame, cos not everyone will watch it because of the channel

Yeah I got the Dresden Files pilot episode off of itunes for free and I dig it! But recently the channel that now shows Heroes was bought by a bigger channel thingy called The CW, maybe you guys back at home will get it ;)

Yep, I watched the first episodes this week and loved it too. I'm actually a bit of a fan of the sci-fi channel, they do have some decent stuff on now and again.

This is one of my favourite shows now, I record it every week and watch it. Hiro is my favourite character, he is so bad ass
Hiro's a pimp man, best character ever. I think i'm addicted to heroes, I'd rather watch it than 24

I just saw tho new episode, I loved it a lot although it didn't show any of the other characters. Did anyone else notice the flashbacks...is this LOST or Heroes????
no doubt, i thought the same thing, but i was glad that we learned more about HRG... and the ending was pretty fucked up... eric roberts is the shit now... it seemed almost like the season was over... everything came together...rather pleased though....and 24 is starting to bore me.

You mean when George Takei said "come on Hiro." J/K
Yeah I noticed it, too. Did you notice that they were on "the rooftop" in New York?

I'm not going to read any of these posts because I just started watching the series two days ago, and dont wanna read any spoilers if there are any. I've now downloaded every episode from the season, currently on the sixth episode, and the show is AMAZING. I love it!! Hope it stays around for quite awhile :woop:

Right, time to resurrect this. This should be compulsary viewing. The show is amazing, and is getting very very good with 3 episodes to go. Not many shows can pull off an 'in the future' thread and get away with it.
I almost want them to fail and to do another 5 seasons of Hiro and his quests lol.
And the good news is that they are free to end this story after 1 season, as Tim Kring has admitted that season 2 will be different heroes :D :D

Which leaves Claire free to come and live with me. Awesome :D

Minty- I agree that this is a great show but I am about 4 episodes behind and that is only because I am unable to record NBC in HD currently. Both my indoor and outdoor antennas stopped getting a good signal over the winter and I have recorded all the episodes but they just look like crap on my Plasma in SD, so I might wait for the DVDs or hope they repeat over the summer...this show is so good that I want to do it justice and see it in its HD glory!
I wish I could talk about it though and I have even been skipping all of the articles in TV Guide as well...
Thanks for posting the article, I will give it a read when I get a chance.

Yeah that '5 years in the future' episode might be my favorite of the season. As for the show, it's probably the show I look forward to the most every week now, although I have to say Lost has been stepping it up with the last couple of episodes as well.

I think the better topic name should be "Heroes, who DOESN'T watch this show?"...then maybe you wouldn't get so many positive responses and comments....haha!!! I dont know anyone that has seen it and not INSTANTLY become on addict, thats for certain!
The wife and I have been watching this show since the beginning and we are lost for weeks whenever they stop the show (2 times, for like a month each time they have) and we cant even watch the TV on Mondays cause we miss it! I would venture to say this is probably THE MOST WATCHED SHOW on TV right now, much better than LOST in my book!!!

Know one Liverpool fan Admin who doesnt watch it, despite numerous attempts of persuassion.
Its a pain in the ass watching it in the UK, as its on a channel no-one watches and its about 14 episodes behind as well.

It's weird. I'm kind of excited about there being new heroes in the next season, however, it sucks that we'll be losing heroes as well!
Yea, this show could go on for a long time with all those storylines in the future, lol. Makes me wonder about everything that actually happened through those five years!
Minty

Yeah, Hiro should have his own spin off show if he isnt in the next series.

Yea, that's true. But if they didnt stop the bomb, that future scenario would make for one hell of a show! It's like an all-out war!

A little tidbit of news about next season:
"*NBC "bulks up" with 30 combined episodes of "Heroes" and "Heroes: Origins," an innovative new spin-off that each week will introduce a new character -- one of whom will be chosen by viewers through the "Heroes" website on NBC.com to become a cast regular the following season."
Interesting.. :p

Not impressed by the 30 episodes tho.
Thats either a season with 7 spin off shows, or just over 2 half seasons.
The idea sounds awesome- be annoying that the UK wont get to decide tho 8-)

Actually 30-24(# of eps in a regular season) = 6. Anyway, how could you not like the idea of 6 extra episodes?
Minty
05-14-2007, 09:56 PM
This series only has 23 episodes ;)
I do like the idea of the extra episodes, would just rather they made it either a full psin off, or at least a half season spin off with a run of 12.
Just me being greedy :p

That's weird. I figured Heroes was a full 24 episodes. I guess maybe they are doing a two-hour finale episode as is the trend these days, which would still make for 24 'hours' of Heroes.
I agree though. The more Heroes the better, but I'll also take what I can get. ;)

This show is the best new show this season.
Plot twists, characters, Sylar. this show has it all.
there is a spin-off Confirmed, i forget its name.
Its getting 6 episodes. Throughout next year, when Heroes is on hiatus, this show will take its place.
What good about this show, is. each episode it takes the life of a hero (we havent seen) but we may get to see this hero at a later stage on the actull Show. how super cool, is that.

Well thats the end of season one. Not as great an ending as I was hoping for, but still a good ending. Can bet now that Molly gets a lot more air time next season.
Pretty good that all/most of the main character survive, only doubt on the brothers.
And the way they started Season 2 off as well, im liking that. Really hope that Hiro can get some bad ass Samurai skills.

I thought that last episode REALLY sucked. I mean, I was hoping for an epic battle between Peter & Sylar and basically they slapped each other around for 5 minutes before Hiro skewered Sylar.
Still, it was pretty cool to see Hiro end up in feudal Japan although the ending wasn't much of a cliffhanger other than "Oh shit, Hiro's gone back in time 400 years".

the ending suffered from the same problems as a lot of anime i've seen. They leave the climax too late and then have to rush the finale out before times up. Many anime tend to have forced endings because they build up to it with only half an episode or less to pay it off. When Heroes finally got to the climax they grabbed each available character and tried to give them a quick moment in the spotlight (in some cases mere seconds of trying to do something and failing or falling back for someone else). It's like they were just trying to get it over with or something.
*SPOILER ALERT*
Surely Nikki could have had a more interesting brawl with Syler than just taking his pole and slapping him once with it. And Parkman could've made a better stand than he did simply because he should be capable of reading Sylars every move. And after they all fail Peter definitely should have had some psychic Alpha Male biffo with the big S. And finally, after the very effective build up of Hiros sword training and mental preperation they could've done so much better than simply appearing behind Sylar and taking a cheap stab. He had become tough, honourable and badass, so why not test his newly found skill and guts by putting him face to face with his nemises (and destiny).
*SPOILER ALERT END*
Oh well, alot of bitching there but it was still cool. Except for that feudal japan cliffhanger, that was totally TMNT 3, and not in a good way.

I just got SUCKED into this show (thanks son!) and now I can't stop watching. I watched 12 episodes over the weekend and I will finish the first season (DVD's) before the new one season starts.
I try really hard not to watch these type of shows because if they're good I'll get hooked and who needs another addiction?

Yeah my wife and I really enjoy the show too. I'm big into comics as well and I can see the similiarities with X-men as well.
I really like the 1st season but I'm a little on the fence with the second one. I'm enjoying about half of the ongoing storylines but I'm itching to know what happened in the 4 month gap between seasons. I guess this gives them space to flashback too.

Such a fantastic show. I watched half of the first season until 24 came back but I regretted that decision as 24 fell short last season to the awesomeness Heroes was. I downloaded all of the first season's episodes to catch up.
Haven't missed a minute of the second season so far. I'm liking all the different directions it's going. 24 is going to take a back seat when it returns because Heroes is my Monday night at 9PM king. :p

My son raised a great question yesterday after we watched the second episode (season 2).
He wondered if the person Molly is so afraid of is actually Maya??
What does everyone think?

Whenever Molly talks about the person she's really afraid of, she all ways says that "he" can see her so i kinda think its Alejandro not Maya cause we don't quite know what his powers are

I just started watching it when a friend gave me the first season to watch. I'm loving it and can't wait to get caught up so I can watch the new ones.
The first series was pretty good, so far the second hasn't really kept up. I figured that...
Sylar wouldn't die at the end
So everything that happens in the future when Hiro visits is almost all possible, bar one thing that is suggested to happen to a certain someone...
Noah gets killed by Claire (see the painting in season 2 chapter 3)
The whole 'Company' and greater evil thing should be good, not quite original but things rarely are these days. And since someone asked up above, it looks like Alejandro's power is to take over other people's powers or to negate them. Everytime he does his little hand-holdy thing with Maya he gets the crazy eyes then they dissapear so it is sort of like her powers are being passed over and he can stop them.
And what the hell is with the Irish people?

Man, I've followed Heroes since day one. I'm still wondering what role Kristen Bell has., New Villian maybe?... But I was talking with my Roomy and I told him that it seems that there's too many characters to tell Stories through, Cause I forgot about Niki until the last episode.. and I want to see more of Maya and her strange Oil of the eyes power thinger majigger.

I see them turning Peter into a villain. As stupid as it sounds, he already seems to be enjoying his power.
Sylar's new plot is awkward at best. He's lost in the woods with a very bad stab wound and no idea how to use his stolen powers. This plot line should be rather interesting.
EDIT: I almost forgot to mention the Hatian. He seems to have a new purpose this season. I'm also glad to see some of the former Heroes joining forces to take down the Company. Though, I'm still not exactly sure who the assassin is. The only one that comes to mind is Nathan since Peter is on the other side of the planet.

I've just finished watching the final episode, I've had it recorded for ages but never got round to watching it. Disappointed is an understatement, the ending was so rushed it was worse than the Gollum destroying the ring part in Lord of The Rings :(
Roll on the next season though, I'm still addicted :)
Though, I'm still not exactly sure who the assassin is. The only one that comes to mind is Nathan since Peter is on the other side of the planet.
But you aren't told when Peter is on the other side of the planet. He can bend time remember =) But Mr. Sulu said something that suggested he knew who it was, so I'd guess it is some random agent of The Company that we don't know about yet. Like a henchman of The Evil or something.
Since all of the characters crossed paths before they will undoubtedly do so again this series, so it could be any of them in disguise. Even Hiro =o
