Tips for Taking Down the Helicopter!

I can't seem to get it down. I use the special Ops machinge gun but it refuses to come down. Tips? Advice? Gladly Appreciated.

I stood by the clock tower with a shotgun and aimed directly up, when the helicopter went over I fired and it went down. It only took one shot.

just shot like twice with the sniper right in the front window then it flew away and i rattattatted it with the spec ops gun, then it left for good, got the achievement, took < 1 minute.

I just used the Special Ops gun, lead the target slightly and let rip. Only took two or three good bursts before I did it.

I have like 5 machine guns saved up from killing soldiers so i should be able to get it.

Here's a tip, when the helicopter starts shooting at you (bullets or bombs) press forward twice to do the roll. You won't take damage.

Does the Mega Man Blaster (or what was it) do any damage to the helicopter?

i wasted 2 snipers hitting it in the winshield but i didnt get the achievement

Ugh.

1)Grab a spec-ops machine gun.
2)Wait for it to come towards you.
3)Don't worry about damage and wait for it to make another pass.
4)You should see it coming. aim for the chopper.
5)TAKE IT TO DA CHOPPA!

Seriousely, the machine gun works best, but it takes almost an entire gun. And it never actually explodes or anything fancy like that. The achievement is to "repel" the chopper. It simply flys away with it's tail on fire.

@kazdan, Yes it does but you'll never hit it with the speed of the copter and the speed of the blaster
It is pretty tricky, Skillets advice is good, also get some snipers and maybe a shotgun.

This achievement for me was one of the worst ones in Dead Rising. Man. I wasted 2 snipers on this thing and it wasn't phased. Then i got two more snipes and finally got it with those extra 2. I didn't try the machine gun.

this achievement took me 1 shot with the sniper rifle.One shot to the window of the chopper and i got it:)

I heard it takes like 3 shots with the mega man blaster, anyone do it. I'm probably going to try it.

Yea once I hit it, forgot that I had to finish the game! The next time was hell.. then I tried again and managed it fine with about 1 hit. The sniper has a slight delay on it.. so you have to aim in front etc. Youll work it out.

It was rough for me too... what's worse is I ended up dying and although I got the achievement, it didn't unlock the uniform in the security room. That drives me nuts.

this one was tough i know that you can do it with one shot from a sniper. i did this with 7 machine guns and 3 shot guns i got on the park roof and just kept shooting i killed it with my last shot gun then the game glitched i got the achievement but the heli kept going round in circles with smoke commin out of the tail.

this one is starting to really piss me off! totally UNLOADED on that thing with the sniper and the machine gun, it just won't die. Must have tried 8 or 9 times with no success. Will probably try again tonight, god they need to have co-op in this game! will try shooting from the clock tower with the shotty.

I used the Real Mega Blaster. I used up just about every shot from a full one though cause I missed about 99% of the shots.

ok so i finally got it after the umpteenth try today. still couldn't get it with the sniper, that thing is just too sensitive to aim when it is fully zoomed in. couldn't get it with the machine gun either, although I only had one anyway.
finally got it by standing on the stairs that lead into the north plaza. waited until it flew directly over me and got it with one shot from the shotgun. it almost seemed too easy after all the sh*t I went through trying to get it. this achievement was a pain!

ditto, i just did it like an hour ago, i wasted 2 snipers, 2 machine guns, and a shotgun, until i thought of the pointing straight up thing,

Just follow it until it is right above you then shoot, dont worry about machine gun fire, it doesnt shoot or misses you half the time any way, and if you get hit try it again
