So me and my friend (we are 14) were at the mall today and he wanted to go into EB games and pre-order a copy of crackdown. We went in and the bastard said that the pre-orders for it ended yesterday and we are too young to pre-order it by ourselves anyways? So we walked to the video game store next to the mall called "microplay". We went in and we seen that they had two copys of crackdown already on display. My friend ended up putting a $70 deposit on the game (still has 9 more dollars to pay off) and the guy even taped my friends name to the box and put it under the counter. The cool part is that the guy who served us is the manager there and he let us pre-order an M game AND he gave us two free pre-show tickets to "the number 23" on thursday which is an R rated movie lol. So yeah, thats my story, also the guy who was wroking there was always cool, he sold my friend Zelda: Twighlight Princess for the Wii 4 days before it was realeased and he sold my friend other M games without an adult too. ESRB is gay.

What exactly makes the ESRB homosexual?

i think the ESRB is a good system, and i personally think it shouldve been enforced in your case. well, maybe for 14 year olds it is not a big deal, but the rating system is needed to help keep as many 10year olds (or younger) from playing inappropriate games as possible.

would your mother really be ok with you playing games that yell "SHIT!" while you are playing or splatting guts everywhere or talking about sexual references? if yes, then you can have her buy it for you. if no, then the system is good to help enforce those rules.

Yea it's got a good purpose, but people always end up getting around it.

Yea I think its the lesser known store breaking the contract to get more sells as compared to a place like Gamestop.

If kids put as much effort into their school work than they do manipulating people to buy 18+ rated games, we would already be living on the Moon by now.

The whole thing will be enforced for a while, but standards will slip and things will return back to the norm.

yeha i know someone who preordered it and he got it yesterday and then the store where he bought it called his house and asked if they could have it back because they werent supposed to give it to him yet but it was already opened so they let him keep it.

Dosnt matter...if they wont sell them a game, the kids will get their parents to buy it for them. Never happened to me:( ...Id have to get my friends to by me them. But Im happy Im 17 now! I feel so grown up. But kids these days are spoiled and always get what they want...most kids at least

You'll find people who ignore the system, and then you'll find those same people getting fired sometime in the future. I'm not some nut about it, but we do have rules (aka laws) for a reason.

Thats cool and all that you were able to get a game at 14, but no offense to you this is the type of thing that puts the video games in a tough place. Since it is the system that is being used it should be enforced. But congrats on being able to get an M game. Reminds me of my days of being able to buy Mortal kombat.
