Might buy this game, does it actually take 72 real hours to complete and 24 real hours for the indoor achievement, etc?

24 hours= 2 real hours. You'll probably have to play through the game several times to get all the achievements though. And be prepared to put aside 14 hours straight if you want the 7 day survivor.

Are you serious? It's one of the best single-player experiences I've had ... ever!

Yeah! It's an incredible game if you give it a chance. Dead Rising can be very frustrating for first timers, so I bought the guide! Helped so much! Tells you where every survivor, psycopath, secret . . . WHATEVER . . . is. So much help, I'd recommend it. Yeah, the aiming system is stupid, the survivors are even worse, the psycopaths can be easy, but the game is just so much fun! Believe me, try the guide . . .

It's my favorite 360 game, and the first I ever got 1000 in.
I <3 Dead Rising.
Took me at least 50 hours to get 1000/1000 by the way.

what didnt you like about it? its a different game, and maybe not what one would expect but i loved every minute of it and couldnt put it down till i got that 1000/1000. id like to go back and work on getting a higher score in the single player mode but its been so long since ive played it i may have lost my touch and i forgot where everything is at.

I keep playing it, Im at level 5 now, and am at the begining. I hate the way you save the game. Ill use that one guys guide here once I start seriously playing again. Hope to enjoy it more than I currently have :(

It's ok...I got bored with it and sold it with only 8 achievements left. Mostly because I kept getting to day six and it wouldn't give me my achievement for five days survivor and then I would die so I couldn't get 7 day.

The survivor AI is terrible...but killing zombies is fun.

If all you want it for is achievements, you can get at least 800 GS very easily from Dead Rising, the last achievements aren't so easy though.

It's also a great stress reliever.

Man this is one of my favorite games ever. I wouldn't go super far with that comment really, but it certainly is my favorite action game on the 360.

I loved playing it and the psychopaths were great. I hope if they're making Dead Rising 2 that it is even better.

I wasn't that frustrated with the game, even though a whole lot of people were. Hell, I didn't even mind the saving system.

I think the game is good and I am trying REALLY hard not to turn it off in frustration, but this game is a joke sometimes. There are SO many major design flaws that it's hard to justify spending the time with it.

Don't get me wrong, but for every cool thing there is a bad thing. The save system sucks. The aiming is awful. The AI of your survivors is worse than the aiming. It's annoying that when you answer your phone, you are left vulnerable for almost a minute. The game is WAY too dark, especially when walking outside. The achievements are completely out of whack. Why do I only get 20 pts. for killing over 53,000 zombies when I get that same 20 for killing 1,000? The convicts in the park re-spawn, for some reason. Why wouldn't they just become zombies? You have to go around searching for different guns when you are constantly playing against the clock and if you miss something, you have to start the game all over again.

I really want to like this game (and I am still playing it despite all of the flaws), but any sequal needs to fix these major problems.

I think the achievements are good, you have to work hard to get teh whole 1000, I do agree the aiming and AI suck and need to be fixed but is the save system really that bad?

And it seems they make the convicts come back just to make it more of a challenge, And really, you dont even need to mess with them after Adam because u got that short cut :woop:. And honestly.... would you really wanna get everything in ONE run through? and then be done with it?

When a game is this frustrating? Yes, I want to get everything in one playthrough. And there are better ways to make the game more challenging than respawning the most annoying enemies in the game. Oh well. Everyone has their own tastes, I guess.

I think the save system is great, except for the fact you can only have one save at a time. You're in a mall full of zombies, I think it would be stupid to allow you to save wherever you are. The save system is designed in a way to increase the tension, especially if you're low on health and not too close to a bathroom.

I also don't think the aiming sucks, it just takes a bit of getting used to. And of course you have to go searching for guns. Again, you're in a mall, there wouldn't be guns just lying around everywhere for you would there?

Some of your moans are right though, it is a pain that when you answer the phone you're defenceless, and the AI of the survivors is stupid. They're not *quite* so bad though if you constantly tell them where to go instead of getting them to follow you, they seem to be able to cope better going to a certain spot and staying there.

I guess the saying is correct. Opinions are like assholes......

I have just got this game and can see where people are coming from with saying it is not good. It takes a lot of getting used to. Although I have perservered with it and am reaping the rewards now.
