I'm looking at possibly getting a jap 360 and was wondering about online play and achievements and how it works. I know people like stripclubDJ has done this, but I was just wondering about the mechanics behind it. Do you just use your same gamer tag on each system? Are you then able to be online at the same time as your other system?
I've also seen some people have the same game in different regions with multiple 1000 point achievements on each game. Is that to say if I bought the jap lost planet and the american that I could in effect get 2000 achievement points for the same game? Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks

I'm already sure you can't use the same tag online at the same time on different XBOX's. I tried this once with my brother and our original XBOX and the 360. As soon as one logged on, the other was booted out of the game. You can do offline stuff at the same time, but not online. Need multiple tags for that.

I'd rather you didnt, feel it makes someone lose credibilty.... but i believe all your points get deleted when ya put it on a new 360 cause when i tried doin an account recove to put my tag on my lil bros 360 it states if i member corectly that this will delete your current gp's. now whether they come back when ya turn on your 360 with the hd on it im unsure any one else?

I know you can do this with Enchanted Arms. And effectively get 3000 points from that lol. And Eragon you can get 2000 ( i dont know about a japanese one though). To actually do this i think you need to do some sort of accoutn recover or something?

The Only Way u can do this is if u put ur account on a memory card. And if u recover ur tag u have to do i each time on both system but u dont lose ur Gamerscore.

I've been wanting to do this as well- but I've always been worried that I'll be wasting my money.
I've wanted to bring in a PAL and a Japanese system to play the import games- I'm not really that into playing the same game two or three times over to double and triple dip.
I'd like to play some of the Euro football games and all of the kooky japanese games-
As a side note, I'm currently ninth on the total games played list and can't move up without importing.

OK guys I may be able to help here as I have a UK and a US machine. I have HDD's for both machines and a mem card. I quite simply save my profile to my mem card, and use it to transfer it to the HDD on my other machine. (I only do this as my system seems to be slow loading stuff from mem card??)
No account recovery or anything complicated required.
Just be sure to find out, should you choose to import a machine, whether or not you need a voltage converter.

I have a japanese 360 and a us 360 and the way I do it, is I switch the entire HDD back and forth between the two xboxs... works like a charm.

You can do that, but personally I use a memory card. I've always had my account on a memory card that I bought day one of the system. I did this even when I had just one system because of an IGN video preview the week before when they were going over all of the features. In order to take my account to my friend's house (which I've never done so I guess it was all for nothing) I would need to have it on a memory card. Well of course once we got the systems and started playing we just hang together over Live and don't do the whole get together at someone's house thing anymore.
And to answer the other original question - no you can only be logged in one place at time.

I have everything on my hard drive. I think I'm just going to switch them back and forth. I can't wait for my J360 to come in. My first leap into importing games. I'm so stoked!
I have wrestle kingdom, pro baseball spirits, and aquazone on the way!
I don't think I want to get games that are going to be localized, however, so I'm staying away from most of the other games at this point.
