Do the upgrades carry over?

Just wondering if I the purchased upgrades carry over to a new playthrough. I want to get all upgrades first and then get the 50.000 style-points achievement.

Anyone know?

nope, you need to get both full upgrades in one playthrough, I know, it blows :(
