Dude I love that album. I listen to a little rock, but mostly hip hop. But I LOVE that album. One of the few I own I can listen to front to back. Have you ever listened to it graf? if not check it out. (Enemy is my fav song on there)

It's a good album.

I like "Decadence" and "Guarded" but I wouldnt put the Album past others that I've heard. "The Sickness" was actually a more securely done album but good none the less.:)

aint nothing wrong with disturbed, if people could look past down with the sickness, theyve actually written a lot of qaulity songs

I've listened to Disturbed. I used to have that first album. There is certainly something wrong with it. I'm not ragging on rock music or anything like that (I think I've said on here even though I predominantly listen to hip hop, I still love The Deftones and Nine Inch Nails among others), but Disturbed?! That agro-rock shit just doesn't fly with me anymore. And even if it did, a place in my top 5 albums ever it would never get.

But hey, that's different tastes for you...

See, there you go. I can't stand NiN heh. Not that it was on your top 5. And as much as I like Gza & Ray's first solo albums, they would never be on my top 5 all time. Though I put 36 chambers on there. Same group yet differant tastes.

If I'm being totally honest with myself, I'd probably have 36 Chambers in the top 5 too, but I didn't want too much Wu Tang up in there. Oddly enough I'd put GZA and Raekwon in there before my favorite Wu members (Ghostface Killah & RZA for anyone keeping track).

Damn Spider....

The New Danger and The Eminem Show?

I thought The New Danger was utter crap....definitely nowhere near Black On Both Sides....just way too out there and rock influenced for me. The Eminem Show has its moments, but it's not even close to being the best Eminem album, let alone a top 5 album. This is all my opinion of course, and I respect yours....just discussing.

Anyways, I would probably change my list around a little....these albums gotta be in there somewhere (or at least close):

Jedi Mind Tricks - Violent By Design
Mobb Deep - Hell On Earth
Outkast - ATLiens
Mood - Doom
Snoop Dogg - Doggystyle
Wu Tang - 36 Chambers
Notorious BIG - Ready To Die
Redman - Dare Iz A Darkside
Ice Cube - The Predator

Plus many more....way to many to make a top 5....haha.

SpideR NY
03-15-2006, 11:06 PM
Well I would put at least 2 Mobb Deep albums above Hell on Earth. Eminem Show he rips it almost every song. Til I Collapse, Say what you Say, etc. Also it seemed like the whole point of that album, was to prove he was the best. The triples and quad bars insane. What Em album is better then that? The first one he isnt on beat let alone on the top of his game. Same with the underground before that. The MM LP he talks about Nsync and them too much. And the last one is cool but not close to it.
And the New Danger is my fav album of the last 2 years. He does rock, blues, rap whatever and it all sounds great. "I'm the shot clock way above the game"

SpideR NY
03-15-2006, 11:18 PM
Also with people putting rap albums like Ill Bill in their top 5 why dont you bust there ball about that. Just because its underground doesnt make it classic. Though the school shooting song was sick:uzi:

Fuck Ill Bill & Necro. Those dudes are corny. Happy? Although that one Necro song 'I Need Drugs' is fucking hilarious.

"When I come home from work I'm fiendin' for an 8 ball, I got crack on my mind, I'm hearing cocaine call, telling me to beep the dealer to deliver me stuff, keep it a secret from my wife, cuz she thinks I don't use
drugs"

Wasn't New Danger a lot of recycled shit from Mos' failed Blackjack Johnson thing?

roywilliams31
03-16-2006, 03:51 PM
You're right....Necro sucks for the most part. His beats are cool, but I can't stand him on the mic. As for Ill Bill, he's dope....but that album was merely decent. Non Phixion is one of my favorite groups....and The Future Is Now was a way better album.

I just mentioned something about your list because I feel there are much better albums from Eminem and Mos...nothing against you....

The Eminem Show was cool, Em was on point lyrically....but SSLP and MMLP had much better beats, IMO. I believe there is only one N'Sync reference on MMLP as well....I could be wrong though....

The Mos Def album was a bunch of scrapped material from his rock project and freestyles....very lackluster album as far as focus goes....did you like his previous effort Black On Both Sides? I thought that was excellent.

Anyways, it's all opinion and I respect yours....just commenting.

SpideR NY
03-16-2006, 07:04 PM
Yes I liked Mos Defs other albums. But I really liked that album because it was so differant. And again the slim shady lp is not close to eminem show. I would say MM LP and e show are close but I like e show better. and there are tons of referances to boy/girl bands on MM LP.

Honestly Though I dont think the new danger should be in my top 5. If it wasnt new(er) I dont think I would be, but its very fresh in my head. Probally Onyx Shut Em Down should be in there at Number 5. But the new danger is still a awesome album. And the Eminem show still whipes the floor with almost any rap album I've ever heard. "I joke when I say I'm the best in the booth, But a lot of truth is said in jeast. And if I ever do live to be a legend Ima die a sudden death, 5 mics in the Source? aint holding my fuckin breath, but I'll sufficate for the respect before I breath to collect the fuckin check."

Edit: So I changed my list. Not because you guys are busting my Balls because honestly I thought about what my true top 5 had to be. Also on my origanal list I wanted to have a newer album and a rock album. But now I will just go with my bar-none top 5. And I will defend these choices tooth and nail. And if you don't think Shut em Down is top 5 stuff then you need to go listen to that album front to back 5 times.

Ready To Die and 36 Chambers are amazing albums, of course....nice job.

I like Shut Em Down too....but I think their previous album All We Got Iz Us is better....one of my favorite albums as well.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree about The Eminem Show. :)

It's way too hard to make a top 5 anyway....there are about 100 rap albums alone I could put in my top 5....haha.

First off the thread is entitled top 5 albums of all time not favorite classic albums all time. If this was the case my list would look something more similar to most other members list (ie. biggie, Dre.) Second I did'nt just put Ill Bill onto my list because I thought it was underground. Where did u get this theory from? Im really curious because I thought I added Bills album because its one of my favorites all time.

All that BS aside its good to see some HipHop heads on here :)

Jaw wasnt calling you out, sorry about that. Just had read that album and when I was responding to some of these other heads calling out the em show used that album as a example. My cuz and I have had many heated arguements over the I'll Bill vs. whatever thing and I can respect what them guys do. Anyways I agree its good to have the rap peeps in here. "maybe you not smart enough for them out there, and maybe, just maybe, not hard enough for this right here" (50 spidey points)

Oh shit, I'm going to own this shit if you do end up doing your Spider points. But to show you I earned it, I'll give you more than you asked for:

The Wire
Season 3
Avong Barksdale said it to Stringer Bell.

I could even give you the setting of that episode but I wouldn't want to ruin it for people that haven't seen this great great show.

EDIT: Speaking of The Wire, when the hell are thye going to release the season 3 DVD? My season 1 & 2 sets are getting lonely.

KMFDM is probably my favorit band of all time. My wife and I have hung out with them a few times (even have Steve and Andy's phone numbers :D ) and everytime they are cool as shit. Sascha is probably one of the most humble people I have ever meet, and he is a 40 year old man with a mohawk how can that be a bad thing. Last year they had to leave early and Steve was down right upset they couldn't come to our house and get some drinks....... but we are hoping this year we have convinced them to do the show at a venue that is closer to our house. :Bounce:

I'd rather not be flamed to hell for this:

-Insane Clown Posse - The Wraith: Shangri-La
-Dark Lotus - Black Rain
-Blaze Ya Dead Homie - Colton Grundy
-Axe Murder Boyz - The Unforgiven Forest
-Natas - N of Tha World

and @ earlier discussion: I hate Necro. It's not that I hate his music (I don't like it either) but he's just a straight up asshole, which I can't stand.
