Ive recently gone through this game and noticed there's no Road Map. So I made one! Feel free to comment or criticise, Afros quite a hard game so I might have missed something.

-Achievement Guide - http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=122028

1st Play through: Number Two Headband (Normal mode)

You must play through on Number 2 Headband difficulty first to unlock Hard mode. There are no glitches or reloads of saves that will allow that otherwise, so get used to the idea of having to play the game twice. You will net all the story cheevs first time through.

During your first play-through, pick up all the Mementos and Ninja Ninja Poker Hands using the details in the main guide. Kills stack over consecutive plays so that’s not something you have to worry about too much. Use the respawning enemies on the School Invasion if you really want to get to 2000 kills/2000 gallons of blood straight away. You will also get the combo cheevs as you play through. This will also level you up some too.

Early on in the game you will be taught how to Parry. LEARN THIS!!! Get the timing down to a tee, it will help you so much in Hard mode! Parrying also helps with getting the beheaded cheev without the need for Focus mode. As before, specific kill quotas stack over all game plays so don’t worry if you don’t get them straight away. Once you complete the game nce you will unlock Number One Headband (Hard) mode.

2nd Play through: Mop-Up/Level-up OR Number One Headband (Hard mode)

Now you may be wondering why we're mopping up any missed cheevs already. If you start a new game on Hard, you will lose the ability to level select any levels you've already done, so you need to tidy up on Normal before you get to Hard. Really, Hard should be the last cheev you get. I made this mistake and am spending longer going through it then I should have done. Anyway...

If you havnt already, load up School Invasion and go nuts on those respawning enemies. This will get you kills, blood and levels. The highest level you can get is lvl50. Check what level you are by going into your Xbox’s memory settings and viewing the save data for Afro. Once you're lvl 50, you're set.

Reload levels for the Ninja Ninja Poker games if you haven’t got those either. For the Poker hands, it doesn’t matter what order you get them in, as long as you get ONE of head, hand, leg. You can Parry, pounce with A and use X to head chop for the head, then use Focus Y to get the leg/hand. You can also use Multi-Focus (LB) to chop of body parts. This would be the preferred method for the Samurai Flush, as Samurais tend to block your post-Parry pounce.

However, if you got all of these on your first play through, then well done to you and get the hell on with Hard mode!

3rd Play though: Number One Headband (Hard mode)

This is where it gets serious. Enemies spawn and act exactly as they do before, but they hit harder. If you can, Parry for all its worth. You need to be somewhat of an expert at Parrying for the Kuma fight, otherwise he will just own you!

When fighting groups of enemies, if you have Multi-Focus (LB), then use it!! Look out for bears that restore your health, try and save the bear until you really need it before you heal. This is especially important on boss or wave fights, as sometimes you only get one bear to see you through! Completing a Ninja Ninja Poker hand (any, not just the flushes) or Leveling Up will restore some health. That last point may be moot if you are already lvl 50. Look through the guide for boss strategies or check out GameFAQs, as there are good guides there too.

Hard mode WILL frustrate you, there is no doubt about that! Even with Parrying, Kuma took me the best part of 2 hours. Stick with it and that 200G for finishing on Hard will be yours!

Thanks to Serious Ninja for the original achievement guide!

Once you level up and get used to the controls, it helps and makes it easier. I didnt think I would 1k this, now Im only 2 cheevs away from the full 1000!

edit - full 1k now gained!! :D

great additional information mate

on my last cheev in this game now - the hard play through

kuma is pwning me, i complete the first phases, the ship collapses, i remove his bear-head, then i can't do anything to stop him

he either kicks me to death or he swings around when i get behind him, throwing him and me high into the air - resulting in me on my back and then two kicks dead

anything more that you can provide will be greatly appreciated

regards
phil

EDIT: well kuma lies defeated but i didn't use strategy i got lucky when, after removing his bear-helmet he just jump-attacked and i finally got behind for some Y focus Y action
