I don't understand the ending [Archive]

Do you have to get all the propaganda reports for the story to make sense? For instance, what was that cult? Was Ethan always one of them? Is that why he had his "instincts"? What the hell are those things anyways? Why did all the bird keep dying? From the metal pieces? What are the metal pieces for?

I'm playing through a second time hoping some of those questions will get answered.

The guy at the end you face. the last boss, is Agent Ethan thomas.

i had to finish the game 4 times to get that.!

I just finished the game for the first time around half an hour ago (950/970 GP) and I came to look up the story because it confused me also.

i soughta got the jist of what was doing,but i still think the could have added alot more to the story line,was very short,second time around i clocked in 5 hours,thats way too short...especially seeing there was a 2 month gap in playing the game,still,cant wait 4 part 2.
