Don't you hate it when... your playing a story mode of a game, and you're in a new level, and your friend who's watching you (who's already beaten the game), tells you how to get through the level and stuff, when you'd rather figure out for yourself?
And when they spoil something when you're playing it's even worse
Any other stuff people do when you play games, or just when they play games in general you find annoying?

My friend was playing Riddick the other day and he was trying to figure it out where to go, it was so blatantly obvious and it took him so long to find out. That made we want to tell him.

Yeh I was playing Lost Odyssey.... and that is LONG RPG that requires a lot of time. Anyway, I was on the 3rd disc, first time through, and my mate told me the ending. I was sooooo peeved.

haha oh wow. That's a pretty dick move. Especially considering you'd gotten that far into it.

My friends both got Gears of War 2 before I did and ruined the entire story for me. They also did that with Resident Evil 5. So I decided to tell them the ending of Fable II when they were close to finishing it, the best part about that was they were only playing it for the story.

I know one guy who is constantly renting games, then blows through the story as fast as possible, and tries to ruin the story for me, but thats when you tell them 'polite like' to be quiet or you will ram the controller down their throat.
And i hate to say it, but I'm a puzzle helper. When i see someone constantly jumping for a platform and failing constantly, while there is a switch that they somehow don't see... i help... it ruins it for some people, but i can't watch someone for 30 mins trying to jump to a platform that's clearly out of reach, or try to exit a room but missing an obvious piece of the puzzle.

Well most of the time i'm first in my friendslist to finish a story (I play the most), so I don't really have this problem, but there's the other way around too.
I find it annoying if someone is constantly asking for guidance in a game. It's not that I don't want to help someone, but there are people who ask how to find every single switch or always ask what their next move should be.
I highly doubt if they get to enjoy the game.

I get that ALL the time! Whenever I sign into Live, I'll get a message at some point asking for help on a game, sometimes before they even give it a try themselves. They'll be like "I've just bought this game, I heard it's tough, any tips?", so I don't even reply anymore. I'm not being a dick or anything, but surely they have other friends and surely they can at least try to do it themselves first.
Though, I can't stand it if I'm watching someone try to solve a puzzle or beat a boss that I've already done, and they're trying for ages. It pisses me off more than the person playing, and I actually sometimes say to them "This is easy, if you can't do this then God help you when you get further into the game!"
But the thing I hate more than that is when someone invites you to a game when you're on Silver membership! I have a guy (who is beginning to do my head in anyway with his constant game invites) who invited me to play Rock Band 2, then sent me a message asking when I'll renew my membership, then invited me again!
When I told him I wasn't planning on renewing for a while (I don't play online much and now I have my excuse for not playing with damn persistant friends), he called me a broke bitch... Seriously considering kicking him off my friends list too. :p

Kick him lol..those aren't friends but just cheapass wannabees that can't do a shit themselves. First act like a moron send a message again while you know it has no use and be rude.. It's called a FRIENDlist not a MORONlist or something.

I can't say I have that problem but I am still even now being flooded with people asking me to get them the viral achievement in Transformers ROTF.
It was annoying enough when random people found me on the leaderboards but I don't understand why it's still happening.
And for something more relevant, People have ruined many stories in games for me in some cases it has put me off playing the game any further.

I have a friend who does that all the time. I mean I can understand if I'm casually playing the game or just having a little fun online, but when I'm on an achievement(especially one I've been working on for the past 3 hours), hell no!

Cause you know, Fable II has such a great story ...
I never spoil the story unless they say they don't care, but I give tips if they're doing badly. Not so much as to tell them everything, just general things.

This has happened to me many times my friend told me about the first gears of war i was told the ending of COD4. I was playing God of War and he told me how to beat the final boss and i felt like i didnt actually beat seeing as how i was told how to beat the boss.
There is only a few games i can say i have beat on my own God of war 2, Gears of war 2, Resident Evil 4 and 5, GTA 3, san andres, and 4.

thats why i didnt bother to finish final fantasy x, my friend and i where sitting there and i was just getting into the final stages, (collecting crap for the last battle and stuff...) and he goes "oh the ending is so sad blah blah blah blah blah..." i turned the console off and went out for dinner with my girlfriend without finishing the game... it still sits on my shelf alone... though my wife plays it from time to time (she likes the puzzles in the game for some reason)

i have a friend who, when watching anyone playing a racing game on career mode or the like, will shout out the directions in which to turn, which is so bloody annoying and distracting that it messes up your whole train of thought sending you reeling into the barriers. He also gives it some "faster!" and "slow down!" which does a similar sort of thing. And he revels in it, adding "I told you such and such" or "you shouldve done so and so". I giving up playing at all when hes around.

Sometimes my brother wants to play a new co-op game online with me, which I'm cool with. What irks me is he'll jump ahead and play when I'm not around or he'll even finish the game.
Because I want to see the game to the end, at those times when I can play, I feel like I have a living, breathing walkthrough who constantly tells me where to go and what to do rather than have us figure it out together, had he not jumped ahead.
I bitch about it to him, but he still does it anyway...

so true, so true.
Luckly my girlfriend doesn't mind me playing video games when she's at my house. Most the time she watchs me play with her head in my lap( With pants on pervs:) ) and useally she will nap lol.
My friends do that to me online all the time, telling me to do things a certain way( in mulitplayer matchs i think it's alot worse). I just ignore them or tell them I DO WHAT I WANT. My friends know i'm not really yelling at them though.

I understand that sometimes it's really obvious which way to go, but when they keep telling you constantly, like they made the game, just makes me wanna tell them to shut up.
Now I usually play multiplayer games when I play with a friend :D

I have a friend like that, every five minutes "Lets play something else." or "Fallout 3 sucks! This is'nt even an RPG! They are programmed NPC not real people!". All he does is play Call of Duty World at War ll the time, he rented Ghostbusters but he said it took to long at a loading screen so he did'nt bother waiting to play. So he did'nt.

It goes both ways. Sometimes it's bad, sometimes it's good. Some games don't provide maps and aren't very linear.

Of course everyone's different, but I'd never invite my friends over just so they could watch me play games. Then its like, why'd I bother to invite them over?
