View Full Version : How do I turn off sentinels?
Hi,
the game sucks with these annoying sentinels. And because I paid money for the game, I assume there is an option to turn off these stupid sentinels which ruin the whole game?
Couldn't find anything in the options menu.
Thanks

Sorry but no you cant turn off the sentinels, there really not that hard you can blow them up if you 'splode by them and try to keep some enviroment between you and them and go fast through those sections
Thought so.. unfortunately, killing them isn't always possible since they are invunerable until they stand still.
And then, there are these strangely set checkpoints..
I loved the first 15 levels but now.. this game gets annoying.. : /

I'm curious... Are you upset that the game has something challenging in them, and because you paid for it that you don't want the challenge to be there?

^NAIL. HEAD. BANG!
There not that hard to dodge really!?!?!
Just keep moving and as above posts have said keep walls between you!
Practice makes Perfect! Why would there be a setting to take the enermys out!?!?! If you had that in all games there would be no point of having or in fact making any console in the world ..

The game offers A COWARDS WAY OUT so take that.

No, I've read that taking that way doesn't unlock achievements. Additionally, no one would do that because of the cakes..
Very funny, though. The Maw was such an excellent and easy game.. and now, 'Splosion Man COULD be an awesome game..
It is not challenging, it is not hard.. it's just.. f-ing annoying.. l2r.

Well then what's annoying about it? The fact that something makes it a little bit more of a challenge?

No, the fact that every time I was short on completing that scene one of those sentinel beams appeared and kicked me off a ledge into a hazardous waste pool. I didn't even see the sentinel coming.
tl;dr: The fact that I had/have to repeat the same scene over and over.
However, I'll still 200 it and I'll still buy games from Twisted Pixel. This is not such a big deal as it is in other games (Like games from EA) but.. still annoying. : /

There not that challenging until you get to hardcore mode. Then they are the biggest pain on the ass ever.
You want to turn off... An enemy?
Riiiiight....

Why would there be an option to actually turn off an enemy. They are a bit of a pain in the arse, but I've got used to them now. It's best not to rush blindly through the area they're in. You have to bide your time a bit and splode them if and when you get the opportunity.
As for the difficulty, I don't think we can really comlpain. The Maw was a great little game, but it was very easy. You couldn't even die! This is a real challenge. I don't want to just breeze through all my games. You definately get you're moneys worth with this game.

It's not very too challenging anyway.
I finished the hardcore mode 4 days after I played the game for the first time and I didn't have much trouble.
The sentinels are quite easy to avoid as long as you don't try to rush everything and you just take your time.
Rushing means you are more likely to screw up and that is going to get you stressed which is exactly what I think has happened to the OP here.

Yeah, they follow a pattern that matches you if you speed through. Take it slowly, go a different way then is obvious if possible, and you're good. ^_^

Yeah there is a way to do it. Pause the game and press the following code:
up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A
Also works on all Gears of War, Call of Duty and Halo games just in case the enemies annoy you on the harder difficulties.

I just finished the normal difficulty and did first 8 or so levels on hardcore - got to a part where I failed alot of times - dunno why, I guess everyone has their "god damn!" levels :P Anyhow, the sentinels aren't too bad on normal, but on hardcore I imagine them being a pain in the ass. I usually tried to rush through those parts instead of slowing down. Most of the time it worked, but not always :P Talking about annoying AI .. Um, I hate those purple electric things - I always end up jumping into them :P Anyway, gl!

I agree with you when you say the more was more fun. This sure did have the potential. They've just ruined it a little bit trying to make it more difficult. But they've only made it more annoying insted of difficult.
It seems a bit like an easier version than N+.
That game is ridiculous.
p.s there should definatly be an option of what enemies you'd like in the game and not.

Yes! That sounds like fun. Let's put in an option to take out whatever enemies so we can walk through the get and get all of the achievements. While were at it, why not send out a patch for Gears and Halo so people can get turn off all the Locust and Brutes so we can just walk through all the difficulty achievements. Seriously, I thought the whole point of gaming is to have fun and have a challenge (even if it does mean getting annoyed at sometimes because you die right at the checkpoint). If you would just takE your time and not rush through the puzzle then maybe you can beat it.

Just brilliant.
Has it really come to the stage where the difficulty of a game can dictate the opinion, even when it is clearly well balanced.
This game is old-style. Learn pattern and routine and beat it.
I played games for over a decade with that format, with no internet to search for FAQs upon, but a couple of mates and some Tab Clear.
That said, if the Sentinal bots are an issue, you'll probably want to pull your toes off on some later levels.
The game has fifty levels that get tougher. Get over it.

T0b3, this game is obviously not for you. That happens in gaming. Just move on, and play something you like more instead of annoying yourself by forcing yourself to play through the whole thing just for gamerpoints.

Yeah, in comparison to N+ it seems like a piece of Doughnut but that doesn't make N+ ridiculous. N+ is not designed to walk through every level first try. It's a jump'n'run'n'puzzle. Finding the best route through the maze.
I nearly through my pad out the window at some point. As an example for that: the level with 5 rooms full of mines. So I left the game and after a week (and playing some other levels and coop) I did it in 2-3 tries.
And the same goes for 'SM: Find your route. If you die, try another way or wait until your path is clear. If you die on the next occasion: repeat :) Sure it can get annoying but it's worth trying as it's a great fulfillment if you finally beat it.
PS: No, I didn't finish N+ completely. There are about 4-5 Levels left from the original game but I think I completed all the addons :) I'll try to get those last ones from time to time..
