Okay, I'm a little confused. I was playing co-op campaign against the white and red deck AIs, and I was using a red and green deck. Well the AI pulls out the Goblin King, which gives all other goblins mountainwalk. So I expected that all of the goblins would be unblockable, because I have a mountain, but the thing is I was able to block every single goblin he attacked with. Is this a glitch or is this actually possible?

It has to do with the upcoming rules changes in the paper game. I do not fully understand them, but there is something about how landwalking works in 2 Headed Giant.

Oh and Troll Ascetic, it says it can't be the target of spells or abilities your opponent controls, so if it's your troll, you can still target it with whatever you want. About The Rack, was it a 1v1 game or multiplayer game? Because if so, you have to choose a specific player for it to damage. If it is a 2HG game, and you pick one opponent, and the other one runs out of cards but your chosen player still has 3 or more cards, it won't damage the team.

About the landwalk ability: That happened to me in a few games, where my elves had Forestwalk and one of my opponents had a Forest, but the partner was still able to block. I'm not too sure about it, but I think if the person directly across from you does not have the land, then the creatures with the landwalk ability can still be blocked.

I was always lead to believe that even in 2HG, landwalking would work even if whoever was in front of you didn't have a land, provided that one of your opponents did.

this isn't true, because in my game, I blocked with creatures from both the forest and mountain decks I was using

That's the way it used to work, but the upcoming rules changes, well, change that. It sounds like it was integrated into the XBL game wrong though.

What are the rule changes then?

"In a 2 headed giant game, landwalk doesn't count"?

hey.... that happened to me too! i figured it was a glitch....

*feels a rant coming on*

oh you know what i hate most about this game? the stubborn bitchass AI. refusing to give me land cards that i need for almost ten turns, and then beating me on almost every game. i swear i thought i heard my console mocking and taunting me when i was ready to throw my controller at my tv in frustration and anger. but i'm almost done with the 100% completion and the 2 player co-op then it's on to PuzzleQuest for my next XBLA game. woot!

You're sick of the AI cheating and so you're gonna play PuzzleQuest?! Dude... No.... Just no...

I beat Galactrix on the DS and almost had to hurl it out the window of the train like 40 times. Seriously, there's never been so much blatant AI cheating as there is in PQ. You'll take a turn, then watch the AI take a turn where they get a "lucky" combo that cascades roughly 15 times (no exaggeration). Then they get a free turn and get another "lucky" cascade of 12, then another "lucky" cascade of 17. You will die so many times without being able to have a turn that it's not funny. Anyone who says PQ involves any skill is a liar. The only skill involves figuring out which upgrades to buy that make it so you get infinite turns before the AI does.

Saying "I hate the AI cheating in Magic but at least after this I'm gonna get to play PQ!" is that same as saying "I hate the fact that when I play the light occasionally glares off the screen and gets in my eyes, but at least after this I'm gonna get to stick my dick in a meat grinder!"

ROFL. i had no idea PuzzleQuest was just as bad. it just looks like a fun fantasy rpg/cascade game to me. one thing at puzzles though, is that i never give up even if i have to pull out all my hair and tie a noose around my neck and threaten to end it right then and there.
uhhhh... hold on, i need to go knock on some wood.... :p
so yeah. if anything, at least my curiousity will be sated and i can wear the t-shirt.

Not just as bad, worse. Magic's AI can be beaten through careful play most of the time. (I won with 2 mana once.) PQ just pummels you beyond all hope.

I honestly don't know, I don't keep up with the paper game anymore. But If I remember correctly, basically when you attack in a 2HG game, you are attacking the person directly in front of you. Any and all landwalking abilities will only apply to you and that person. I think that's how it goes, but don't quote me. If that's the case, then it was obviously implemented wrong in the XBL game, but again, I don't know for sure.

Yes, if you have mountain walk, and the person directly in front of you have any mountains, then you get to walk all over them. But if only the person diagonally in front of you has mountains, then they both get to block you.

Same goes for abilities, like Abyssal Specter, where if it damages any opponent that opponent has to discard a card. If it goes through, then the person directly in front of you has to discard.

I was trying to find some official stance on the matter, but all I got was a post on Wizard's forums.

A player with a Landwalk ability should be able to get by un-blocked as long as 1 of the players on the oppnents side has the land that the creature can walk. This was a design decision to simplify the game and will not be changed.

So I don't know. I never had to deal with 2HG because in my circle of friends we'd either play 1 on 1, teams or free for all.

Right on.

Any explanation for my Hollowborn Barghest dealing me damage when my opponents had no cards in their hands? I was playing co-op campaign using black and black against green(?) and black. Both my partner and I had cards in hand and both opponents had no cards. During the opponent upkeep, I took 4 damage, 3 turns in a row. I just sent it on a suicide run on my third turn.
