my buddy is trying to sell his 360 and is confused what the difference between gen 1 & 2 and why is gen 2 sellling for more on ebay?? my guess is that gen one is the ones that came out at launch and gen 2 is any other ones.. can anyone confirm or have the real defition for this

its just tricks, theres no differnece. they say newer consoles dont freeze as much but its a load of BS

I can say this though, my newer 360 hasn't had a problem yet. It's been like this:

First 360: MFR Date: 11-02-05, Broke (Freeze + Screen Artifacts)
Replacement #1: MFR Date: 11-22-05, Broke (Faulty DVD Drive)
Replacement #2: MFR Date: 12-22-05, Working

I would say the launch group probably had more problems than the second batch, but that is to be expected. But if your first batch 360 hasn't bit the dust yet, your probably safe.

they might be distinguishing gen 1 as all the ones that came with the media remote, and gen 2 the ones shipping now without them

yea the earlier made ones have a media remote, now the past couple of shipments dont have media remotes, might be what makes ones gen 1 and others gen 2

Im worried that my XBOX 360 will break down after a couple more months then i wont be able to claim the guarantee on it
