the descent
Whoa, seriously man? I disliked that movie.. The first sighting was kinda freaky but the whole movie was just old. It did have one good part though, you remember when that guy got the pole through the head? oh god I loved that part me and my friend were joking about that the whole rest of the night and the next day. And I can't believe none of the chicks were hot.. lame..
For me:
Poltergeist
Exorcist
I don't know the name of it but it was about an underwater monster or something
Jaws - Yea, I'm a pansy. It wasn't so much the movie as the affect on me. :D

I agree with first list...
Anyone who puts Saw or Hostel on their list doesnt know what a horror film is. Saw and Hostel are not even movies. You get to watch people get tortured for 90 minutes:eek::(. If you want to watch torture, go to guantanamo bay and hang out with the terrorists there - you paying to watch Saw at a theater is a vote for more crappy horror movies:mad::mad::mad:

I'm sorry but in my opinion anyone who thought The Ring was scary needs to broaden their horror film horizons. I demanded my money back after watching that piece of crap.
You cannot be serious. The Ring is the greatest American horror film in the last 10 year. I will admit that Ringu (The Japanese original) IS a better film overall but the eerieness and setting as a whole just had a gloomy and dark overtone which was absolutely incredible. Horror really has gone down the drain and is now based pretty much totally on gore and cheap 'Jumpy' horror other than tense and suspenseful moments that the master of suspense Alfred Hitchcock brought us.
Also if you demanded your money back after seeing any film you are a complete jerk and if I were the movie usher while you were complaining I probably would have slapped you.
Here is my list --
-Psycho
-The Ring
-One Missed Call (Fantastic Japanese horror film and vastly underrated.)
-The Shining
-Alien

^^ I agree with this dude. The Ring was one the only horror movies to really scare me. Only 2 have actually caused me to lose sleep. Ring and The original Exorcist.

Damn right.
There's no reason to demand money back... Anywho.
When you had mentioned Alfred Hitchcock I immediately got a chill down my spine.
I was like, addicted to his films when I was younger. Not because they're were SCARY, but just good.
