Help With Pacifist of Makus Achievement

I don't understand how you can accomplish this achievement. With the tractor beam on you can't warp. And at impulse speeds the klingons just overwhelm your fleet before you get to your destination. Am I missing something?

Whew! I finally got it. In case anyone else has problems with this one, the method I used was to just take a single fast ship around the left hand side of the map, around the side of all the planets, and to come up from behind the bottom planets. Target just the bird of prey, and tractor it. As soon as you do, give full power to the engines and come back the same way you entered. Nothing should be able to catch you.
