At the end of the first level, it completely blurrs your vision so you have no idea what you're seeing and they still expect you to fight enemies. WHY DO THESE PEOPLE STILL GET TO MAKE GAMES?! I am so freaking tired of this nonsense CONSTANTLY! People who make games are not gamers.

Now I'm at the second level and they've got you fighting 4 bums after you fall out of the elevator... The combat is simply horrible in this game. I can fall asleep in the time it takes for people to fight. Two bums have been fighting each other for the last 10 minutes. Maybe it was a bad idea to play through on hard mode but I didn't want to play through more than once. This is just ridiculous and unrealistic. The only thing that IS realistic is you dying in 2 hits, but the enemies are superman.

It's the shittiest combat system I've used in the current gen since Fallout 3.

Well I made it as far as the 5 blast pods on the snow level. This game is really freaking unbearable. I wanted to finish this game but it was just so freaking unbearable. I can't believe this is a sequel and I can't believe it wasn't released in the 90s. The worst part of all is gamefly shipped the first game too before I had a chance to take it out. -_-

i've just started this myself...and can totally agree about the combat system!....i can imagine mayb eventually getting used to it...but im not sure i can be arsed with the stress levels!....im not good with annoying games!

on a further note....the first game was different if you've not played it bud!....it still had a shit combat system but nowhere near as shit as this one!!!.....really enjoyed the first game! but i doubt i'll be playing this one!

Not true. I met many of the developers of both Condemned games, and they are definitely gamers.

There was a point, you just clearly missed it because you were so hung up on your own vision problems. If you are used to shooters, then yes, it is a hugely different combat engine. But for what they were trying to do, they did a decent job. You have to block and counter-strike to win. I died fewer than five times going through on hard on my first play through of the retail release, at least in part because I had played for several hours on a pre-release version and understood what the combat system was based on.

All that being said, I still enjoyed the first one more than the second, but I still think they were both decent games. The MP was fun for the first hour, but that was about it.

I'm glad I'm done with the campaign, the dark atmosphere was always straining my eyes. And ya it seems kind of pointless, and is frustrating on the harder difficulty

Actually the combat system is well done and if you get the hang of it you almost always get out of a fight without being hit... it's just that blindly running in and trying to punch enemies will not work in this game.

And all those visual distortions serve a purpose... some of the levels are meant to be like that... it's called atmosphere...

oh and i dont know about you but i just love the atmosphere of not been able to see sod all and blindly hitting buttons on my control pad....makes me feel like ive been punched directly on my corneas (as the game intended i guess). Reminds me of the orignal perfect dark where if you were shot your vision went blurry, to the point that if you played it for more then a couple of hours, your all most certain to of done some damage to your eyes
