I have to say I am mortified by the way people are reacting to this game. Just because its a film license, people immediately assume its rubbish. The game may look dated and the story may not make sense, but heres an idea, get of your arse, read the book and see the film like I did.

People are basing the opinions off the crappy demo, not the movie or books.

I didn't play the demo but I think the real game is quite fun. It may not be the best game for the 360 but there are a lot of games that I think are worse and even though the graphics are not that good and the camera is actually anoying I'm having quite some fun with the fighting system.
Give this game a chance :p

The game was just OK for me. I finished it in a weekend, on Normal & Hard and found all the eggs first try.
It has ZERO replayability. It's a rental.
Read the book, it was crap. Saw the movie, even more crap. I immediately assumed it was rubbish since it's a film-licence game based on a crappy film that is based on a crappy book, and nothing I've seen so far has disproven my assumptions.
Even if it were a great book and/or a great movie and the game was crappy, it still would be a crappy game (Eg. I'm a huge Superman and X-men fan, yet I thought the games were really crappy). The source material does not justify a crappy end-product.

Not fun at all. From the uber-shitty cg to the clunky beat seemingly infinite enemies up before the game allows you to scroll forward.
My favorite part of the game? The clumbsy powers that you gain through the progressing tutorial. It's like Zelda, man!

i LOVED the book i though it was really good i read it about 2 years ago and then read eldest and though they were the best books i have ever read, i was waiting for the movie for about 10 months, i have already known the realase date and was just waiting, it came out and it is a very good movie but not that true to the story line, i thought that the game wasn't that bad, i have a brother who likes to play 360 and it was a good game to play co-op with him, we both use to play all the lord of the rings games on PC together, reminded us of them
Ive just played through this,
i think its a good game,
doesnt do anything amazing and some bits are a bit boring,
but its not as bad as everyone seems to be making out.
Its not supposed to be an amazing game,
did you really expect this to be on the same level as gow, and other fantastic games you love?
Sorry this game will never be in the same class,
but its not all that bad.
:)
Its worth a rent if youve nothing better to play.

im sorry but how could u not agree with this? the books were pretty could when they didnt rip off of lotr or something but the movie and game were such rubbish they dont even deserve to be rented, some think its okay but its listed in the rpg section, ppl who like it did it really play like an rpg? NO inventory, NO camera flexibility, NO do it your way missions, NO spell or move creativity for the player to do, it sucked, period.

Out of curiosity, what genre would you put it in? Adventure, perhaps? Just asking...

Every adventure story has ripped off the bible in some way.

I think this is a fantastic game and I will always back it up (not just for the achievements). I completed the game and am now going back on the levels on hard and I'm still learning new stuff, all the cool sword combinations and stuff that can be do is excellent. Sure the graphics are extremely poor but that's not what makes a game in my opinion, it's the gameplay and Eragon has lots of it.

i would definately not call this game an RPG its more a third person Action/ Adventure platform game, and on another note I could list 50 original Xbox games that are better than this piece of work. Anyone who thinks otherwise is either under 15 years old or mentally retarded. Little kids always dont know shit about shit. :uzi:
ps- i'm talking about you jjbdude and fleamcd, does your mommy know your playing om the internet, you better ask her if its okay. actually hold on a second i'll ask her myself.
