http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/Devinadam/contest.gif
To celebrate the festive period with our members at X360A we have decided to host a competition where one lucky winner takes away a prize or two to help improve their already awesome end to the year.
The Competition
Simply post a new years resolution of yours. Make it amusing, make it sincere, but you must make it 360 related or X360A related. Points awarded for originality.
The Rules
1. One entry per forum member.
2. Keep it clean. No profanitity, offensive material.
3. Closing date is 7th January 2007 23:59 GMT
The Prize
Thanks to our friends over at Activision we have Call of Duty 3 to give away and again thanks to Burger King, we have some more meal vouchers to go with it.
Good luck :)

My New Year's resolution will be to stop slagging EA..... Oh wait, shouldn't it actually be their resolution to satisfy their customers?
Well, what the hell, I'll try and give them a fair trial, and not let past products taint my view. Wish me luck, I feel I'm gonna need it.
(Oh and I'll attempt to stop slagging Webb too - but can't promise anything)

My New Years Resolution is to actually finish some older games than I have rather than get fed up quickly and move on to a new one. I was surprised when I look through my profile at how many 0GS games I currently have. This includes my 29 XBLA ones that I think I've only fully finished a couple of.

I realized I could use my gamerscore for an advantage. Since I have so many people adding me all the time asking for help and they love to talk about 360, why not give them details on how great this site is? So I figured as a new years resolution I should become a more productive member. I see a lot of great stuff all the time but I never really post the shenanigans. I've had opportunities to bring a lot of members to this site, but I never did. So my new years resolution is to get into the swing of becoming a productive member.
There is a problem though. There's this guy on xbox360a named DaWebbmeister. Anyone know him? He makes joining this site hard. He's so scary :( (you guys need a weeping face). He reminds me of a columbian coke lord and gizmo from the gremlins mixed! With a dash of Wookieeness you know those big furball guys from star wars? Anyways, bringing this incident to light, I would like to add something else to my new years resolution. I want to make webb a nicer person. I recall this one time, he somehow tore a hole in my heart through the computer. I've never healed since! Now I cry all the time when I watch Back to the future. I'll FIGHT FOR YOU WEBB I WILL!! :boxer*Eye of the tiger music*
edit: I also want to write semi-threatening/love letters to Microsoft to give justice to the Europeans. They are 2007s most unliked culture. Except the europeans have it worse then any other before them. I mean no worldwide zune launch? I can hear the europeans singing now: "How can I live without you!! I want to know!!" (dedicated once again to Webb).. oh and give EA and Sony a pimp slap with extra baby powder.

My resolution is to stop playing such hard games and stop getting my butt-whooped in Gears. I've only completed 2 games, out of 8 easy ones I've played intently. To sum it up... STOP SUCKING.
P.S.: The staff of this website doesn't make it any easier on me. I swear, someone is going to have some nauseating side effects.

My new years resolution is to 1000/1000 every RPG available on the 360 by years end. This does not include Eragon. Nothing should ever include Eragon.
I'm also quitting smoking which is a good thing, and am going to go running once a week to stay fit.
A tri-force of resolutions. One to keep me healthy, one to keep me fit, and the other to make sure I actually play some games on the 360 for Gamerscore as online PSU has consumed my gaming life and I seem to be getting no points as of late...

My new year's resolution is to give Mario his clothes back and never pull off something like this again. See exhibit a.
exhibit a:

I was never really worried about anything Sony would bring to the console wars but the WII had me worried. If I couldn't resist this Italian plumber's manly charms and stylish moustache, being a Microsoft Fanboy myself, what chance did the mass market have? How could Master Chief compete with that?
I figured a clotheless Mario would yield less appeal but I was all too right. Please see exhibit b.
exhibit b:
http://www.aeropause.com/archives/mariohippy.jpg
This rougher, more macho Mario might cause the downfall of video-gaming as we know it. Since I don't want to be responsible for such a disaster, I have hereby returned Mario's clothes, Yoshi's egg, Luigi's vacuum cleaner and Bowser's atomic deathray. I have also cancelled all plans to steal the Princess's undergarments (even though the stealing of such was for personal reasons entirely) and will resolve (hence resolution) to never attempt anything like this again.
Thank you.

Ah, the New Year.
Time to make right the wrongs of years past, time to cultivate your soul into a spirit of love, compassion, and giving. Time to get right with God, to shed those extra pounds, to feel some self worth. Time to cross great leaps and bounds in our non-stop race for Achievement glory! *(Dr. Phil was not a reference for the above paragraph.)
You see, I could tell you that I want to add a few pounds of muscle mass in the gym, but I've already got a Girlfriend, so who am I trying to impress? Besides, If I'm ever feeling left out in the muscle-bound department, I can always pop in Gears of War and play as my old friend, Cole. I could also tell you that maybe I should update my wardrobe, to accessorize if you will, but I've already got a Girlfriend, and who am I trying to impress? If I'm ever feeling left out in todays fashion world, I can always pop in Dead Rising, and have a never ending, mall hoping, extravaganza. Just as much as Frank can get my fashion bone-a-rockin', the old Pinata's of Viva can grab my attention with the latest and greatest in fashion accessories.
My point is, as long as I've got a great Girlfriend who is cool with my "overly obsessive" gaming, then why should I set a real world resolution that won't apply? Maybe taking the approach at normalcy will resume next year, cause this year will be the year of the elusive Achievement!
[Since I didn't mention a plethora of Senior members and Veterans of the site, shouldn't mean that my entry is void... Same for my status as a new member ;)]

My New Year's Resolution is to invent a machine that lets me earn achievements and a gamerscore in the real world. I suppose technically it would be called a liferscore...
Cuz I just can't keep up with all of you great die-hard gamers...but if I earned points all the time I am not on here, I would fit right in!

You ran a red light and survived to tell about it! Achievement Unlocked! 25 points!

My New Years resolution is to stop putting my 360 on a pedestal (can anyone spot the movie reference?) and start spending time with my girlfriend. Seems we've been together almost two years, but this last year all I can remember is nights filled with COD2, Uno, and various other games I've spent an unfathomable amount of money on.

To do the ultimate oxy moron in gaming history! I will locate this gamer

And steal his hard drive from his xbox360. I will then buy a memory card, and gamesave all of his points on a new account called "StripClubCheatGay" and take his position as number 1! I will then write an article on my experience, and how gamesaving is for losers. Thus, linking this website to drive in hundreds of people!

My Original New Years Revolution was to increase my Gamer Score, but with all the work I've been doing I find this almost impossible (it will gradually increase just not original hopes)
So in light of this, my new resolution is to give back to the community that welcomed me in (the Gamers) by offering, no only customers discounts (I own a game store) but to hold monthly maybe weekly raffles. Also to give back to the sites I love and donate a game or two for future prizes
So Happy New Years, and thank you for allowing me to join one of the greatest communities on Earth!
**EDIT** If I am chosen to win, and the Leaders of X360A physically have the game, could I get it signed? (The CD preferably) - That way i could broadcast it in a glass case and hopefully get new referrals to the X360A site!
**Note to X360A, if you need a prize but are looking specifically for something let me know first, so I can see if I have it in stock, have extras, or get one for you guys**

For a little over 2 years now (since the release of Halo 2), I've been playing most games with the same group of people. I occassionally collaborate with others on various games, but it's usually just me and "the guys". Well, me and the guys have this problem... Every time we play a game of Halo 2, Gears of War, Battlefield 2, or pretty much any other game in which our enemies can hear us in the post-game lobby, we pitch them our little catchphrase... Win or lose... Friendly or volatile(we're generally very polite during matches), no matter the level of the playing field... me and the guys take turns each game, patiently waiting for our foes to quiet down or provoke them to do so, then yell at the top of our lungs: "L.M.B.B.!!!" (acronym in place of actual phrase in accordance with the "no profanity" rule for this thread) and then promptly leave the lobby and laugh our bums off. I know it sounds completely retarded and preposterously immature, but we just can't help it. We don't know any other way. It's very possible that some of you have heard us spit this very phrase at you, and to you I am sorry. It is in our innocent victims' honor, the sake of my somehow-still-five-star-rep, and the overall good of the gaming community that I have resolved to retire the sacred LMBB.
p.s. This resolution probably won't last very long if I don't win this award... I'm just saying...

Although I have set several goals for myself this New Year, only 2 pertain to my Xbox 360. I resolve to somehow achieve the impossible and make my wife understand the importance of gaming in "our" life so she must allow me to game more often and in peace.
Impossible you say? I would have to agree but I have a good angle for it. I have always been a gamer and always will be. I have a 2 1/2 yr old son who already mirrors his father in every aspect imaginable. He will eventually be a glorious gamer and in order for me to sustain the ability to bond and communicate with my child we must have something in common we both enjoy immensely. Thus, video games.
You see, by allowing me to play more often and undisturbed she is only furthering my future relationship with my boy. Honing my skills until he finally picks up a controller because there is NO WAY he is going to beat me his first couple years on the scene. I still haven't beaten my Dad in a game of basketball once and I'm a superior athlete to him.
If you don't hear from me after this post its due to the fact that I presented my case to the Wifey and she broke both my hands with a hammer rendering it impossible to type. Pray for the best.

Mine would be to stop breaking wind in front of the wife who doesn't seem to find it cute, funny, cool, mind boggling (from various sounds and lengths of said wind), entertaining, or sexy for some odd reason.....to continue to increase my library of 360 games (one of those diehard collector guys), along with hitting 50k in GS before the year's end....and to have a new year's resolution for next year before we actually get there.

My 360 resolves not to break again (on my 4th one already...sigh) and I resolve to not throw it at the wall if I lose at Madden 08. Seriously, I had an employee throw his PS2 at a wall when he lost a football game. The wall won, but it was a PS2, so the wall was actually more useful anyway (it holds the ceiling up, you know).
Okay, so the actual resolutions:
My 360 - Resolves to stop demanding EVERY accessory when it comes out. In fact, it resolves to not add an accessory for the entire year. Obviously, I have no control over this -

- so I can't do much but chastise the silicon machine if it breaks the resolution.
Creech - I resolve to actually play one complete game without replacing the soundtrack with songs from my iPod.

My New Year's Resolution:
To quit cussing after I get blown in half by the shotgun in Gears of War Multiplayer. My son's getting to age where he likes to repeat everything that daddy says. The wife's not too happy about some of things he's been repeating.
I can relate...the only time I really use profanity is when playing video games with my son. He is 14 (ergo he usually schools me pretty hard) so he knows not to repeat me, but talk about setting a bad example...especially when HE chastises ME about language. LOL!

New Years Resolutions have been dated to the very early years, and have help motivate many people to “achieve” personal goals. The general public seem to have certain common Resolutions. This case, mine are not that far from the default set. This year, I have many minute resolutions instead of one big one, but the one that I believe that is most important follows a strong saying in our modern society – “Bringing back to the community!”.
I initially started my voyage with X360A back when things were at the original “.com” (RIP). It was a simple way to achieve my way up in the ranks of “The Highest Gamerscore” between my closest buddies. When I realized that X360A had a fantastic broad-based community , I started to get more involved. During late 2006, I wanted to start bringing back to the community as it has brought not only a “Higher Gamerscore” but a new connection of friends. I started helping out with the media section, doing new signatures, video achievement guides, and do some low-end moderation. Later on that year, I had some opportunities that I couldn’t pass up. Which ultimately ended up with me not following through on some promises I made with the site.

That’s where this resolution kicks in! Not only will I be more active in this community – but I will offer my support in all regions where I canhelp. Whether it be Graphical Media, or more Video Achievement Guides. With the amount of time I have spent at X360A – a little giving back would always feel good.
With that said – I hope everyone here will enjoy my contributions to X360A, as well as my share of defective 360 stories ;)
