I know this is fucking dumb question but.... what is the master grid and what is it used for? i know its a dumb question but it sounds interesting and i would like to know.

Building a grid (there are two types) is something that will allow you to control almost every spot on the board. I haven't mastered it yet, but this is how most people get the black pearl achievements and super high scores.
