What Do Unlockable Items Do?

I've done a few google searches and I haven't been able to turn up a list of what the unlockable items actually do, if anything. I was reading in one guide where it said you could use one of the unlockable items and your weapons wouldn't break. Is there a list of which unlockable items do what?

Um theres several books and stuff that make it so your items last longer.... You can make the Psychopath Adam (clown) guys chainsaws last for something like 200 kills by collecting different books which is very convenient.

Yeah I've seen a couple of those. But I'm trying to find out about the unlockable items. Things like the Ammo Belt you unlock for getting the Perfect Gunner achievement for example.

I forgot where I saw the guide, probably on GameFAQs but it mentioned that doing something would be a lot easier once you unlocked *insert unlockable item* because it meant items would never break. So I was curious if this was even true and if so which items have what abilities.

Well it looks like it's complete BS, sorry to have confused anyone.

I found the quote again by doing some google searching. I'm not sure if this is the exact same thing I found before but it's reasonably close. It was at GamesRadar.com under cheats for Dead Rising.

Full Megaman Suit
To obtain the full megaman suit you must unlock a few achievments.

MEGA MAN BOOTS: Obtain the unbreakable achievement they let you keep the items in your inventory forever.
MEGA MAN BLASTER: obtain the zombie genocide achievement it shoots out real destructive blasts instead of the usual tennis balls.
MEGA MAN HELMET: no achievement needed it's just there to complete your outfit
MEGA MAN TIGHTS: obtain the punisher achievement (I'm not sure what the effect is).

Note: after you unlock any of these items they can be found behind the airshaft where Otis stands in the security room.

However I tried the Mega Man Boots out to see if this is true and my items were still breaking. I guess that would explain why I can't find any other mention of items having any other powers in any of the various guides.

To clear everything up, the only Ulockable item that Has any effect is the Ammo Belt and all it does is double the ammount of ammo you can carry, The mega man boots DO NOT keep items in your inventory forever.
The rest of the items are Purely there for the look.

Yeah, Dressing up is one of the funnest parts of Dead Rising, I usually have either the convicts outfit (unlocked via carjacker) and the servbot helmet (found in the childrens shop in the Paradise plaza) with franks usual shoes Or the Full Mega man outfit.
