This Game Really Pisses Me Off

Besides flying around with Superman nothing in this damn game is any fun.
Just once I'd like to have a descent Superman game.

And while on the topic of flying around why in the hell is the achievement for flying around so damn difficult. I mean 10,000 miles... even after he breaks the sound barrier lets say he stays at 770 miles per hour. Your talking 13 hours of staying at that speed. You can end the game in seven hours or so and other than doing the Fast Flyer missions there is no reason for you to come close to that speed so what in the hell were they thinking.

Thank god for my son's train set and rechargeable batteries.

Okay I'm done ranting. I'm also pissed because breaking the sound barrier should look like this...

Yes. Out of every achievement in this game the "Fly for 10,000 miles" achievement is ridiculous. Even at super sonic speeds you're only covering 15 miles. I noticed, though, that you already got that achievement. So, what did you end up doing? Rubber bands? Or did you actually suffer through the game and fly back and forth, back and forth, back and forth?

Rubberband puts to much pressure on the thumbstick. I used my son's train set. I had a crane pulls the thumbstick in a circle and a car push the RB button to keep him at top speed. Still took two nights to finish, about 11 hours total.

That's killer! I'm still at 970 points for this game. After my xbox breaking twice in the last month it's hard for me to leave it on overnight to get this last achievement. Don't know if 30pts is worth being without the system for ANOTHER 2 weeks. Damn Microsoft and your shotty customer service!

10000 is alot of miles to fly. I know that we always want harder achivements in games, but this one is stupid. Think I will work on this one after I get the 10000 tons one.

You know you could just put a belt around your controller. It holds down the trigger and keeps the right stick fixed in place. I did that and just went off, then realised I had nothing else to do because my TV was in use =(

What do you mean by keeping the right joystick in place?? you need to keep that in place??

If you are playing a game and want to do something else on your tv, I just press the input button until the regular tv comes back on then just keep checking to see where I'm at.

What does the right joystick have to do with it??

I finally got the heavy lifting one for 10000 tons, just have the one left for flying 10000 miles. I dont understand what you were telling me to do, because if I hold down the right bumper and i get to the edge of the map, superman just hovers there, he won't go in another direction, like i have read in several other posts.

Any good ideas to get the 10000 miles??

You put the right stick into a position so that you go in circles. And use the edit button you silly goose =P

Not only is the flying achievement the gayest ever, the whole game in general suxs, if you ever want to show somebody how to not make a game this would be it.


you can kill a boss upto like 5 times and he keeps coming back for more.

Do the game designers seriously think people would really want to kill 1000000000000 mobs ?

seriously whoever made the design needs sacking, i thought the days of poorly thought out games where gone :)

Its not even worth the license to be released on 360

oh and the cute kittens my daughter was looking forward to seeing look more like cat shit than cats :)

I'm actually working it right now and it works great, just taped down the right bumper and taped the right joystick to the right and he is just flying in circles.

And I don't even have to keep watching the game. Watching New England and the Jets play right now. Just have to check on it every once and awhile.

I reckon like 10 hours. When you think about it. At top speed he does 800 miles an hour, so thats about right.

The easiest way is to simply use electrical tape and tape down you RB button. Superman will fly back and forth all day long. No need to do anything to the sticks. :)

I tried to do that way, but for some reason when I would get to the end of the map, he would just hover and you would have to press the right bumper and the direction that you to go. Zef's way is working really well.

After finishing the story I had about 1500 miles already done. Using the belt method I just left my 360 on for a few hours and it was done. I never really timed it, but my overall game time is somewhere around 20 hours.

Well, since you can (i think..) still play the game after you beat the main story, this would probablly be accomplished once some Superman Fan logged over 30493208432 hours in the game. This achievement (as well as the pick up 10,000 tons) is designed for people who bought the game and play it on a regular basis. But dont they know?? Xbox360achievement.org forum people will find ways around it.

This game truly does SUCK. There is no fun what so ever. Those fast flyer races, were like chinese torture to me. I can't wait to be finished with this damn game ( to see how far I can throw it....from the roof of my house ):mad:

This was probably one of the worst and most soul crushing gaming experiences I have ever had to endure. If I weren't such an achievement point whore i would have broke this game in half long before finishing it.
