I had that problem before too, all I did was re-sync everything and it worked like a charm.
Sorry I can't give a technical answer though.

I looked around the net and found soething that's been working for a lot of people.
First turn on JUST your console and headset. Once they're both on re-sync em both. If the #1 lights up turn on your controller and hope #1 lighst up on that also.
From what I've read that method has around a 80% success rate

I dont understand how that lil cord bothers people so much that they need to drop $50-60 bucks on a wireless headset. Meh, thats just me I guess.

IMO, I hate having to walk around with my controller if I leave the room and still want to talk in the game lobby.
No wire from headset means no controller.
Plus I'm a goon for wireless accessories.:p

I've just recently updated to a wireless headset, and no connection problems thankfully. However, I find that when the volume is set at my preferred level, you get feedback from other players talking due to the mic and earphone being located too close?! Other than that, sound quality is superb and I highly recommend the product.
