When you say you were "heading to the last boss", where were you? Were you in Masyaf or in Arsuf? If you are in Arsuf, it's really easy to get turned around and think you are headed one way, when you are really headed the wrong direction. Just keep killing everyone they throw at you until you can reach Robert.
