Me thinks the change is because they realise most of the songs in the game aren't exactly "Greatest Hits"

god that does sound bad. Here in the UK there was a pop music magazine for kids called Smash hits and they released albums called Smash hits 1,2,3 etc. full of chessy pop songs. so for GH to be called smash hits in the UK is a real bad move i thinks. Sounds god damn awful.

Greatest Hits sounds better than Smash Hits. :( Anyway this game should be good, it will be interesting to what songs they chose.

I just think they changed it because the songs that will be in it won't be greatest hits like Sweet Child o Mine and stuff like that instead it will be songs that are smash hits such as Through the Fire and The Flames (that is not a greatest hit but is a smash hit). so the new title makes sense but I don't like it :P. Also I thought that SH's magazine was still around (because i am sure the tv is)

Aside from the name sounding terrible, they are the greatest hits of the series, or they're supposed to be, at least. TtFaF is the "greatest hit" in GH3, and anyone who feels Freebird isn't the best song in GH2 (or would be if it were the master recording) is getting shot.
Remarkably stupid name change, and I will continue to call it by its original name.

TTFAF is the worst hit in any GH song. Absolutely terrible. I can't stand Dragonforce but I'd much rather they put OGaP or Rev Death on it. TTFAF is just so overplayed on GH, every single PFO match someone will pick it, and half the time they can't even play it! Couldn't really care less about the name, because at the end of the day, they're more than likely going to put the songs on this game that the people DON'T want to see on the game. I mean I heard Barracuda had made the cut, are you f*cking kidding me, quite possibly the most boring, repetitive and easy song on GH3, and I'm sure barely anyone would have voted for it. As long as a master recording of Free Bird is on it, I'll be happy though.

barracuda is a great song and easy for people who NEVER PLAYED THE GAME BEFORE (not me) and dragonforce is great because not only are they insanely great at guitarworks, but the song was a great end to guitar hero 3: LEGENDS OF ROCK. if youve ever played it, of course u would know that

Its true. My friends guitar teacher went to a recording session with them and he said that he was completely disappointed with what they were playing because none of it even compared to whats on their records. Go watch one of their live performances on Youtube, its terrible. Steve Ouimette, on the other hand, is an amazing guitarist.

I would definately not call Raining Blood a "greatest hit", only reason it's discussed so much, is how hard it is to pass/5 star on expert. I guess it's pretty much the same story with ttfaf, but at least I like that song better than RB.

It depends on your music tastes. To a lot of the metal community Ranning Blood is a greatest hit. But it depends how you see it. But also the game looks to still be called Greatest Hits in Europe (or the UK anyways) the demo has called it greatest hits and all the loading screens on it say it, why spend the time making that if you didn't want to use it. Also all the UK online stores have it listed as GHGH, so Greatest hits it is then.
