View Full Version : Thinking of buying a NTSC version as well. Gametag issues?
02-15-2006, 11:56 AM
Was just wondering if anyone have tried to use the same gametag on two 360's?
I have a PAL box already and was thinking of getting a NTSC version as well since the releases are so incredible slow here.
I.eg NHL 2k6. It's not released until 31 March. What's up with that?
The boxes will of course not be signed on at the same time, but was wondering maybe there could be an issue like gamecards are tied to the 360 serial number or something like that.
Is it btw possible to get the premium system without paying a million on ebay? Over here it's impossible to get a 360 (except the core one).

yeah i was thinking of this as well.
also, would a premium NTSC harddrive work on a core PAL system???

i dont think that would work minty, however i think if you use the recover gamertag feature it should transfer over fine, minty i'll contact you by pm tomorrow and give you the information required for recovering a gamertag, and if it works you can get me some points in fifa ;D if you want to ofcourse im not forcin you to do anything

yeah not a problem dude, wont take me more than about 3 hours lol
on the harddrives tho, shouldnt they be identical, just the dvd drives will be stup to use different regions???
02-15-2006, 05:39 PM
but the hard drives should have some sort of region encoding on them, to tell them to work on a specific region (ntsc, pal) idk im not gonna send my hard drive across the pond though, you will have to find someone else willing to do that
02-15-2006, 06:06 PM
lol, wouldnt expect you to do that. may just import a NTSC premium pack

i think GT is right about the hdd having region codes on it, but i dont know who a pal/ntsc working at the same time would be, i dont thnk it would work it would see you loged on two places or somesht....i dunno
02-15-2006, 11:37 PM
lol send me your xbox scoob and ill try it!!
02-15-2006, 11:38 PM
that would be bad, either across the us then the pond, or hte pacific and then asia, and then eastern europe, neither sound good,
but scoob will go for it

02-16-2006, 12:30 AM

You can play the NTSC Ridge Racer 6 on a PAL Xbox360. I don't know if this counts for all games, a friend of mine said it was.
02-17-2006, 09:20 PM
no, it was just RR6 and DOA4 that are multiregion
02-17-2006, 10:20 PM
Oh doesn't matter anymore, both released in EU.

I would say the best way to use one account on to systems would be to save the account on a memory stick and just plug that in to the console you want
02-21-2006, 06:32 AM
I seriously doubt there is any region coding on the hard drive. I've never heard of such a thing. What kind of content would you be locking down by region anyway? Saved games? What's the point?
No, I'd be willing to bet a hard drive from a premium 360 sold in the US would work on a 360 from Japan or Europe. At least, there is no logical reason why it should not.

how much are hard drives in the States? would anyone be willing to buy one and post it over- id paypal you the money ;D
02-21-2006, 11:57 AM

02-21-2006, 03:04 PM
yeah that would be wicked dude, let me know what happens ;D
02-21-2006, 10:50 PM
