Well...I'm married with 2 kids, live in Southern Colorado but originally from Seattle WA, work for the government, and have been in gaming since Pong first came out. Oh yeah, I'll be 38 this July *groan*. If you check out my profile, there's a link to my personal webpage. I met a bunch of gamers on Crimson Skies, we clicked, and we formed our "clan", for want of a better term; the International Short Bus of Luv, or if you prefer, The Short Bus. Just a group of people hailing from the US, Canada and Australia, all in our 30s to early 40s, that love to game and BS on Live. Here's the link if you're interested...
This seems like a fun and informative forum to belong to...thanks for having me!

Thought I'd add a few pics...hey, everyone likes pics, don't they?
I'll see what else I can add later...
i took meteorology as a minor in college...almost went into it...pretty interesting to say the least... must be nice to get to go outside too.

erton - It's great. I get out of the office, and work with my "customers" face to face.
i work in the Lumber industry... but i dont get to see it until its done :(...closest i get to outside during work is when i drag my fat ass out of my office and walk to my car...
you dont work with the forest fires do you?
as a side note (is there any truth to the story about the scuba diver being scooped up and dropped on a raging forest fire?)

LOL - No, that's an urban myth. A good but slightly scary one, but an urban myth just the same.
I'm an operational forecaster...I work shift work in a forecasting office. However, my "specialty" is Fire Weather, hence my gamer tag. During the fire season I get to go out on large forest fires, up to 2 weeks at a time. Been doing that for about 6 years now, and have been able to travel a lot since IMETs (about 55 of us across the US) are seen as a national resource.
I'm thinking AZ and NM, portions of CO are under the gun this year.
thats a double edged sword... sweet job but you have your job because unfortunate circumstances...
im glad you are out there... forest fires drive up the prices in my industry...:)
