I take it the game counts every piece of shrapnel from the shotguns? Went through 1-1 and 1-2 on Pro with the Hydra and unloaded with almost 100% accuracy, but only got 38%...

Does it count every piece of shrapnel from the shells?

It seems to, as it really kills my accuracy also, but it's a shotgun so I don't expect much, also it counts Rocket shots also, it used to not count them in RE4, so make sure you hit your target with it.

That is stupid, you cannot control where your buckshot lands with the shotgun, if a few pellets miss and hit a wall, why should you be penalized when most hit flush?

First off, why would you snipe with the Hydra, I'd never shoot anything with the Hydra that isn't less than 4 feet from me to maximize damage.
Second off, I've never had less than 80% accuracy so maybe you need to take your time to aim.

that does suck, but i usually use my magnum now as it will down 99% of everything with one shot, the rocket launcher doesnt really seem to affect my accuracy score that much as I used it a lot against some of the bigger foes and I still got an S........But yeah I guess they expect you to only use the shotgun close up

Even close up a shotgun will miss a few pellets.

Like I said, Act 1-1 and 1-2... 1-1 I was nailing them right through the gate CLOSE UP as well as the whole mission and I had a 42% acc rating and a 38% on 1-2.

so how exactly does it calculate accuracy then?

i use a lhawk with infinite ammo

i hit anything that i aim at - is my accuracy lower because i go the wimpy body-shot versus taking out the head?
