Duplication: Step by Step Guide

Credit from me goes to this thread and these guys. I have just created this step by step guide to make things easier to understand.

I have decided to create a 10 step by step guide for this as It took me a while to understand and it appears it has with others also.

Guide by xI DaR3DeViL Ix

Once you have reached step 8 for the first time, return to step 3 and skip step 1 & 2. Once you have a full inventory of eggs for Sheva read steps 9 & 10.

Guide for 2 controller method.

Step 1: Main controller signed in as your main profile (Chris)

Step 2: 2nd controller signed in on any random created profile. (Sheva)

Step 3: Click play game, continue from any chapter (Quicker if it is a chapter without a cut scene before any action)

Step 4: Organize, make sure you remove all items from your inventory of both Chris and Sheva. Make sure to keep an egg on Chris.

Step 5: Click ready and enter game. When the game has loaded hit start on controller 2. Press A 4 times. You will now be in the section to either: Organize,Buy,Ready. On both controllers hit ready and yes.

Step 6: When in game hit Y and give the egg to Sheva. Then hit start on controller 1 (Chris) and quit. On controller 1 hit either yes or no to save. It doesnt matter. MAKE SURE to save with Sheva (Controller 2)

Step 7: Play Game, Continue, A, Start Game, Ready, Yes. In game hit start with control 2 then hit A 4 times. Ready and yes both controllers.

Step 8: Control 2 (Sheva) give all eggs to Control 1 (Chris) then Control 1 hit start and quit. Control 1 (Chris) SAVE the data and Control 2 (Sheva) DO NOT SAVE.

Now head back to step 3. Rinse and repeat! Read steps 9 & 10 when Sheva has a full inventory of eggs.

Step 9: When you have full eggs for Sheva you are now at the stage where you give the eggs to Chris every time and save with him (Control 1) but DO NOT save with Control 2 (Sheva).

Step 10: Everytime you enter the organize, buy or ready area click organize and sell all of your eggs. Now enter the game and get Sheva to give you all the eggs again but again DO NOT save with Sheva (Control 2) but MAKE SURE to save with Control 1 (Chris).

Rinse and repeat over and over etc ;) Soon you will be rich :D

Thanks to GGN Sumidor for the following Tip.

If you give Chris the eggs while in the "Organize/Buy/Ready" screen, then Sheva will lose all of her eggs when you leave the mission, regardless of whether or not you save her file. When you leave the OBR screen, it saves. If you give Chris the eggs AFTER the OBR screen, and then decline saving Sheva's file when you leave, you'll be fine.

If you have 2-3 storage systems then the following method posted by Forsaken32 may be quicker for you.

Note: Messing directly with saved game files can be dangerous. Note that if something goes wrong or if you make a mistake, you can lose your data forever! You have been warned.

First, you will need to have 2 storage devices, for example Hard drive + memory unit, hooked up at the same time.

Second, you will want to have a good amount of things ready for duping, as this method is for moving more than 9 slots of inventory at once. It takes longer to do, so the more you have over 9 slots of items to move the more efficient and time saving this will be. This method also prevents you from accidentally eating or doing other silly things with the items!

(1) At the dashboard, push the xbox button. Go to settings, system settings, memory, all devices, games, RE5, and copy your RE5 saved game from one memory unit to the other Hard disk -> memory unit etc.

(2) Start a game as you would any normal duping session, making sure player 1 is Chris since that's what game you have copied.

(3) Once you are at the Organize/Buy/Ready screen, the real duping begins. You can now move everything Chris has over to Sheva's inventory, and then move it down to her storage. You can essentially give her every single thing Chris has ever had in one go, and there's no risk of eating an egg or something.

(4) When you are done moving everything you want to copy over to Sheva, exit out of the trade, and the game will save. You can now save and exit all the way back to the dashboard.

(5) At the dashboard, go ahead and delete whatever save chris gave away all his items on, and then copy the one where he still has them back to your main storage device.

(6) Now this is a tricky option. Now that Sheva has items, you can copy her saved game to the 2nd device as well.

If it seems too complicated, or you are afraid of making a mistake, just skip to step 7.Otherwise, follow this process:

Chris gives items to Sheva, delete Chris's saved game at the dashboard and replace it with the one where Chris had items from earlier. Sheva received items, so copy Sheva's new saved game to your 2nd device. Now Sheva gives items to Chris, you delete Sheva's game and replace it with the one where she still has items, and copy Chris's game. As you can see this creates an infinite cycle where you never lose a single thing.

(7) Restart from step 2, and you should have everything you traded on Chris, as well as on Sheva.

This worked for me, yet I feel as though I'm somewhat bad at explaining things. So, please give me any comments on how this works, how bad it confuses you, or how to improve it in any way, thanks!

Great guide but you put in a few unecessary steps
two signed in
your profile as chris.
When player two joins, give the stuff you want to duplicate to second player. It will save when you start playing.
then simply PLayer two give stuff to Player one.
QUIT.

player one saves player 2 doesnt.

when you do it again both players will have thee same as each other. then rinse repeat. saves a step at the begining.


also a note for those using eggs.

if you dont have eggs or only have white eggs a much better thing to use then is hand grenades. Worth £250 each (same as white egg) you can get 5 per slot (same as eggs) but the real good thing is it goes much quicker. when you take grenades of someone the player takes all 5 from that slot in one go. where as eggs its 1 egg per every time you give them.

so its 9 swaps instead of 45.

then you can sell all 45 grenades for 11,250.

obviously brown/gold eggs are more efficient. but grenades are a great alternative to white eggs and much faster

I was actually just thinking about someone saying something like this.

I have two things (one question, and one statement):

1. Why does it matter to you (being the person asking it, not necessarily you Birdy) who does what with their own game/save? I think that if you purchase a game, you should be able to do whatever you want with it (aside from modding it "illegally", etc.)
2. Everyone has their own "standards" or "definitions" of what does or does not "ruin" a game. What makes it fun for one person may make it completely not worth the money.

Yeah cheers for that, I didnt try that technique from fear that it would mess the save but I will add this as we now know it does mess with the save.

You know, at first, all I had were incendiary and normal grenades, as well as golden eggs. Since I don't have rotten eggs, I'm using a stack of normal and incendiary grenades and the other slots for golden eggs. I was going to just sell them all since they're all 1,000 each, but I realized I can use this to stock up on grenades and, possibly, ammo. But then I'm hearing you get infinite ammo down the road, so this kinda defeats the purpose...

Ammo is dupeable, weapons are not.

@ crossfire yes you could do it with a guitar, all the required buttons are there. but it would be very hard.

weapons cant be traded thats why they cant be duped. (if you could trade, you could get someone to give you best weapons in game from the start)

Not too sure if they can patch this or not but would reccomend to anyone that wants to use it to use it soon as it could be patched anywhen. I can see it being when the DLC is released myself but you never know.

I only have golden eggs, so I'm using those (pulling in 45k is nice, but having the rotten eggs would be awesome), plus I'm duping ammo, specifically magnum, shotgun and grenades.

I would assume that Capcom are working on a fix, but considering the DLC is actually paid content, I doubt they'll tack it onto it. They'll obviously have it as a title update, but that will probably come out the same time as the DLC, probably mask it as a compatibility update.

Realised you can get another easy N15,000 here too, if you use Chapter 2-1. There's a chest on top of the ship carrier boxes with N1,000 in it and another N500 knocking about in that first room, do all the swapping at the point listed above, grab the money, THEN save Chris and quit out, you'll have a bonus N1,500 every time too ;)

Always make sure to give the eggs in the actual game and not the organize menu's so that you dont lose the eggs. Pretty much though if you follow the steps, even if you dont understand it; it will still work.

After posting this, I timed myself for transferring 45 rotten eggs from sheva all the way to chris with this method: 40 seconds. That's roughly 15-18 minutes to dupe 999 rotten eggs! Since I have 3 storage devices, I just copied a game where sheva had tons of eggs into all 3 storage devices. Then, when sheva is joining the game, you can pick from either of the 3 storage devices. So you can move all the eggs, save and exit, re join the game and load from a different device and move eggs again without going all the way to the dashboard... it's nothing short of epic for getting 2 million cash quick. Note I'm only doing this to get it done before they fix this bug.. I'm resisting ruining the game with it for the time being.. but if time gets tight or I have to return it, the options always there ya know? lol

Super easy method: Invite a friend to a game. In the pre-game buy/organize/ready screen have him/her empty their inventory into yours. Then the friend presses the xbox button then Y and goes to the dashboard. The game will not save for your friend and his inventory will be intact. Then reinvite them and rinse/repeat.

I now have 500+ eggs, 5K pistol, 5K MG, 1K Shotty, 1K rifle, 1K Magnum, and 100"s of grenades, mines and health. Basically your an invincible Donald Trump. The only thing it doesn't work with are weapons but you're rich so you can buy and upgrade them to your heart's content. Everything else is fair game. Enjoy.

You need two profiles.

How can you have 2 profiles in the same xbox? Just asking because I've tried but when I press start for the second controller then I have to chose the storage device and the a new profile, but if I chose a new profile then I get out of the game and I start from the beginning with the new controller. Do I need 2 xbox hdd? I have only 1. Can I use something else?

Great guide. But i dont really see the needs for this 'glitch.' I play thru this game 4 times n was able to upgrade every gun by the end of 5-3 on professional. my 1st playthru was on normal 'enjoying the journey,' so not really any treasure hunting but pick up everythg i killed. my 2nd playthru was on ametur , that was my s-rank run and collect some treasures. my 3rd playthru was veteran also the treasure and BSAA emblem hunt-run, picked up everythg i killed and boxes. the professinal run was kinda the same, collect treasures if i remember them and break every box and kill everyone and pick up everythg. and by the end i already upgrade everythg, starting from magnum to rifle to MG to shotgun to handgun. so i dont get y ppl need so much money for? doing a speed run on 4-1 earns u 40k and it should only take 10-12 mins.

Great guide. But i dont really see the needs for this 'glitch.' I play thru this game 4 times n was able to upgrade every gun by the end of 5-3 on professional. my 1st playthru was on normal 'enjoying the journey,' so not really any treasure hunting but pick up everythg i killed. my 2nd playthru was on ametur , that was my s-rank run and collect some treasures. my 3rd playthru was veteran also the treasure and BSAA emblem hunt-run, picked up everythg i killed and boxes. the professinal run was kinda the same, collect treasures if i remember them and break every box and kill everyone and pick up everythg. and by the end i already upgrade everythg, starting from magnum to rifle to MG to shotgun to handgun. so i dont get y ppl need so much money for? doing a speed run on 4-1 earns u 40k and it should only take 10-12 mins.

I know this was posted a while ago but the glitch prevent's multiple playthrough's and if someone can give you an egg you can upgrade the weapons right from the start.

Although it may make the game easy and all people who play the game for achievements can get away with doing less I guess.

How can you have 2 profiles in the same xbox? Just asking because I've tried but when I press start for the second controller then I have to chose the storage device and the a new profile, but if I chose a new profile then I get out of the game and I start from the beginning with the new controller. Do I need 2 xbox hdd? I have only 1. Can I use something else?
Am I doing something wrong? Please I just need help because I have all the eggs waiting for this glitch :D

You can have has many profiles as you need on the same Xbox HDD.
For example I have 5 profiles, mine, the wifes, both the kids and one for my mates to use.
Sign in your 2nd controller before you load the game up ;)

Best bit is when your chosen second profile has a full inventory of rotten eggs it only takes about 5mins to rack up shed loads of dollar.....
