View Full Version : Combat is terrible

Anyone else think the combat in this game could have been a lot better. It just seems that I spend way to much of my time blocking and parrying attacks only for the same result with my attacks.

It reminds me too much of Assasin's Creed's combat, which also incredibly lackluster.

Then again maybe I just suck at it.

I actually thought it was worse than Assassin's Creed. Similar, but worse.

I quite liked the combat system. I thought it felt a lot more like an actual duel would (Author's Note - Has never taken part in a swordfight) than the normal "Swing sword until one or the other of you dies" combat you would usually see in games like this.

As an aside, if you counter and use an Acrobatic attack or a throw, you can usually get a few good hits in before the enemy is able to block again.

It's a lot of blocking but when you start a good combo it will mose likely work. It is boring when all your attacks get blocked, but most enemies can't block special attacks..

no Assassins Creed had 100x better combat. i loved the combat in that game. it was really fluid and i could easily take on 20 enemies at once and not get hit by them. in this game, you push a button and the Prince executes the move like 2 seconds later which is really annoying especially when going for the 14 hit combo achievement.

I enjoyed it i like the new combo one-on-one system, although it seems to be delayed at times the input always registers correctly

Ill miss the group battles but Assassin's Creed will be the game to go for that from now on it seems(which is not a bad thing seeing as AC did a great job with combat)

At first, I really disliked it, but once I got the hang of deflecting, and learnt the trick of each corrupted (Warrior needs to be lured then hit hard when near his weak point, Hunter should be deflected then combos a lot, Concubine should be blocked until she finishes her long strings of strikes, and Alchemist is kind of a mixture, but with a lot of Elika) it seems to become a lot easier. Plus, when started, combo chains gave you a fantastic feeling of power. :)
