Difficulty level...

How many difficulty levels are there and besides the spook factor is this a hard game?

Na, its actually easy to moderate difficulty depending on which level you play it at. easy is far too easy, normal is still kind of easy, hard is just a bit of a challenge. what can be hard though is getting all the birds and metal pieces (unless you have a guide or gamefaqs lol)

I've completed this game on Moderate. Didnt realise you could set difficulty until after I completed! Doh!

Ive been playing it on normal, and ive only died when ive come across a guy with a shotgun cause two quick shots and you're dead.. Overall, its not too difficult, and its a great great game..

Best thing with the shotgun is to be far away and let him waste his ammo, well thats what I found.

Yea, he never seems to run out tho.. He always seems to be able to reload, i wait til hes done shooting and take him out in the few seconds i got

Just take him out with the taser. It'll stun him and he'll most likely drop his weapon, allowing you to quickly whack him on the head.

Patience is the key, say he has 8 shots, I usually strafe from behind things to get in his view and then blam. Might take a while.

Or you can just be kamikaze and run strafing left to right ready to whack him with the tazer.

as one of the guys pointed out above, the best way to deal with this maniac is to get closer using cover and then taser him when he's reloading. You'll be able to disarm him and steal the shotgun.

There was one part where he was in like a long hallway with nothing to cover from and by the time id get to him he was already reloaded and would get atleast one slug in me before id taser him, and those shotgun shots HURT..

The one time I found kind of difficult is the part in the pool when I had to do it with melee only. I didn't beat that part until I figured out I could use my taser and still count as only melee (stupid I know).

I'd be lost without the taser especially since i am strictly melee through the whole game

The taser is especially useful for disarming the thugs with the firearms!

I take it your talking about the subway bit. The shotgun dude got me a few times there, no cover and I was just a sitting duck.

I just hid behind some object and when he went to reload tased and took the gun

Yes, that was my strategy too. I must have played this game through about 3 times. It truely is marvellous. :)

Ahh yes! The Butcher! I remember her. Pure Evil. Don't forget to use the meat cleaver when you've disposed of her... especially if you're going for the melee mayhem achievement at some point, as this is the only time you'll come into contact with it :)

Isn't it automatic to get the fire axe? Like, Don't I have to use it, to cut the guys hand off of it?

I believe you have to cut the hand off with the cleaver you get after killing the fat lady ...
